Most Current Update

Jul 13, 2009

I was going through my other site blogs and realized that I hadn't post one up regarding my gastric bypass progress in a while. So here I am, putting up a quick update.

With all of the stress that I/we (Bob and I) have been dealing with over the past few months ... well, since January really ... I'd put on a couple pounds. I know, I cringe when I think about it. Putting on even 1 single pound will stop a post-GBS'er's heart in a second, putting on 5 lbs comes close to killing them. I had gotten down to 144 lbs and as of last week found myself back up around 148'ish. I swore to myself, once I had the surgery, that I would NEVER get fat again, never ever gain the weight back. However, no matter what you vow to yourself your body often disagrees and takes control of the situation. It also didn't help that I ended up focusing on a lot of other things and found my eating habits thrown off course, as well as my exercising.

As of last week I forced my derriere to get back into the gym. Let me tell you, I was well aware the full 2 hours that I was there just how out of shape I'd gotten in the span of 5 months. However, I coerced myself into seeing it through, giving my body the luxury of 10 minutes in the sauna once I was done. Since then (This was this past Friday) I have been back several times and even coughed up the $$ for a 6 month membership. Stepping on the scale earlier today, I almost fell off of it. Looking down at the numbers, I couldn't believe it .... *picture of proof will come later, as the camera is in the other room and my sore body is screaming in protest to go get it* ... 142.6 lbs!!! How freaking incredible is that?!?!?!

So, I'm working towards making 130 lbs by July 30th, which will be my two year surgiversary. It's so very hard to believe I've almost hit a two year mark. It sometimes feels like just yesterday I was trying to breathlessly wriggle my butt into a size 22 or 24 jeans. Right now I'm wearing a size 6 jeans and a size 3/5 juniors shirt, but they are starting to get a little loose, as I continue to work out and tone up.

Well, there is my update for now ... I probably won't do another one until July 30th comes around. My ultimate goals - to get to 130 lbs, look into having plastic surgery (breast lift with implants, tummy tuck and rear end lift) and then wear a very cute two piece and walk the topless beaches of Long Island. LOL (No, really, I do want to do that at least once.)
