July, 2008
July 25th, I am 9 weeks pregnant YEA!!!!!.  This is my first!!!!!! 160 lbs.

April, 2008
Apr. 28, I have been feeling yucky lately.  My pouch seems to be getting finicky, like it was in the beginning right after sugery.  I have lost alot of inches and I am holding at approximately 148 lbs. to 153 lbs.

Apr. 17, today is my one year anniversary.  I am thankful for the surgery.  I have lost 72 lbs.  I am still weighting in at 150ish.  I would like to lose another 20 to 30 lbs.  Got any advise?  Please help.  I think the job I work contributes to a lot of stress and it makes it harder to make the weight move.  I work a rotating shift and it has been hecked for the past 3 to 4 months.

Mar. 2008
Mar, 17th., 11 months out today.  I am wearing a size 7/8 Rockies no pocket jeans that are about 11 years old (found them hanging in the back of the closet).  You know how things you don't wear get shuffled to one end of the closet and things you do wear are on the other end, well I found them waaaayyyy in the back of the closet.   I am weighing in @ 156 lbs., WTF, it's that time of the month so I'll take that.  I am still losing inches.

Mar, 13th.  I am weighing in @ 151 lbs.  But my clothes are getting too big for me.  I am starting to lose inches again, and that's fine.  Hopefully the weight will continue to drop.  Hubby said today 'all your clothes are getting big on you".   I told him I would rather my clothes get too big for me than for me to get too big for my clothes.

Feb. 2008
Feb. 28th.  I was sick for a little while there and I wasn't getting much sleep, just dragging all the time.  When I begin feeling better  I weighted myself  and found I had gained 6 lbs. I hadn't been eating, so I could not understand what was going on.  I guess my body went into starvation mode, during this time.  I am happy to say I have started eating again and getting my water in, not flavored water, plain water and the weight is dropping off again. I would like to be in the lower 140's lbs. or even better in the 130's lbs. range by the end of march.

Feb. 15th. weight in today 149 lbs.

Jan., 2008
       Happy New Year!!!!!!!
Jan. 2nd, today , I weighted in at 160lbs, it's that time of the month so I'm o.k. with that.
Jan. 3rd, today I put on a size 8 Nomex with cold weather clothes on underneath and my weight is 159 lbs., I am still losing inches.  My husband called me spaghetti this morning, he said I was getting kind of skinny, ha ha.
        Jan. 17, today I weighted in @ 154lbs.
Jan. 20, I have noticed that after I eat, the point where my gallbladder was removed hurts,  just a note to self.
         Jan.22, weighted in @ 150LBS., WHOOPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dec., 2007
Dec.  6th, I had some of the worst pain I had ever felt in my life.  I called my doctor and they said, come in Monday, it sounds like your gallbladder.
Dec. 10th , appointment with doctor.  Ultrasound showed gallbladder bad.
Dec. 12th, Gallbladder removed, one day surgery.   Had been having bouts with diarrhea after surgery, the doctor says this is the normal now.
Dec. 21th, Weighting in at 156 lbs.

Nov., 2007
This month is still slow.  My doctor says I need to eat.  I am not eating enough and my body is in starvation mode.  My blood work came back great.  But the weight is not moving. 166lbs.  I have been speaking with the doctor's office and they still seem to think I need to eat more my body might be in starvation mode.  He wants me to come in to check out the stomach pains I have been having.
Nov. 15, I had a good night. Yesterday I actually ate more in one day than I had in two days.  When I got home after work I felt good I wasn't tired and I actually slept 9 hours last night.  I feel great today.  I will try to eat every 2-3 hours, drink my water and see if this gets things moving again.
Nov. 17, today is my 7th month mark and I haven't lost a pound, but I think I found the problem, hidden carbs.  I will weight in in a week and I should see a big difference, pray for me.
Nov. 23, I went to the doctor on last Tuesday, they said I look great and I don't look like I weight 165lbs.  They said that I am losing inches and my weight loss will catch up, maybe.  Because I look very toned they think I have gained muscle weight.  They say I look like I weight approx. 140lbs.  I want to see the scale move DOWN!!!  Also they said my gallbladder might be getting bad but I need to monitor what I eat and see what triggers the pain and they said that I might just have a bad gas problem.
Nov. 25, THE SCALE MOVED I WEIGHT 161 lbs.

Oct., 2007
This has been a very slow losing month.  My weight has been fluctuating btw 160-165lbs.  My stomach has been very finicky over the past few weeks.  I have been suffering with bouts of vomiting and dry heaving.  Hopefully things will get better soon and the weight will start falling again.

Sept., 2007
This weight loss month has been a very slow .  I have lost 1 pound.  I have stepped up my exercise program and I am eating more protein.  I need to drink more water!!!!  The inches are coming off!  I have lost a total 2.5 lbs for my 5th month.  I weight 166.5lbs. as of Sept. 17.  I have had two bad incidents with   food getting stuck. This is horrible.  The pain is awful.  Just about as bad if not worst than dumping!!!
Sept. 27th, today I weighted in at 161lbs, and I feel better about that.  I am still struggling with my water.  But the exercising is very good.  I have been dumping really bad but it's dry heaves instead of vomiting and that is awful.  I am finding out that I can't tolerate foods with tomatoe sauce very well and some food make me nauseous just by smelling them, other than that I am happy.

Aug., 2007
Things are getting alot better.  I spoke with the doctor's office and they said if things get worst to come in.  But it actually got better.  The pains are fewer and less frequent.  I have been walking on a regular basis and my eating is getting better.  I still occassionally have real bad pains, I hope it's just gas.  I was on a plateau for about 4 to 5 weeks, the scale moved today, yea!!

July, 2007
I am eating more food choices.  My weight lost has slowed a little it seems and I feel better.
I have not been very weak so I started walking again, but on the third day when I was just about
finished I felt like I was dumping and I was told that my sugar level was probably too low.  I made
a bad mistake by eating cereal and milk afterwards, I really dumped after doing that.  I haven't had any problems since then.  My husband says my color has come back.  I went to the job to try to return to
work they said I had to see the company doctor on Monday, and he cleared me.  I returned to work on
July 17, I am 3 months post op and I am down 50lbs.  I work a 12 hour shift and I started back on graveyards Tuesday night.  I am having to adjust to staying up all night again.. i have been working
every day with out a day off.  I noticed Wednesday that my stomach begin hurting real bad on the upper
left side move around to my back.  I called the doctor's office and they said to walk, I did and I was still hurting.  They also said be careful I wasn't becoming dehydrated, so I started drinking alot of water still hurting. I have been hurting now for that pass five days so I have made up my mind I will go to his
office on tomorrow.
July 29, last night I burped for the fisrt time since the surgery and my husband said that is a good sign you are getting back to normal, slept with a heating pad on my stomach and it helped alot.

June, 2007
I went back to the first week's eating plan.  I was waking up in the morning and going to sleep
at night  with knots in my stomach.  My stomach ached first thing in the morning before I took
my vitamins or before I ate.  The only time it was o.k. was when I drank Crystal Light, sometimes water seemed to bother me.  I was referred to a nutrionist.  We made some adjustments to my eating plan and things started getting a little better.  It was determined that I have a very low tolerance for sugar and carbs now.  The other problem I had was that fact that meats were not my friend.  I found out that I could only tolerate shrimp and that is what I ate for protein, so much so, I almost got sick of them and heaven knows I love shrimp.  I was supposed to return to work on June 26th, I was evaluated by the company doctor and was not allowed to return.  I went back to the doctor and he prescribed some meds for my stomach.  This really helped me out alot, even though it made me constipated.  My stomach was not aching all the time and it was settled enough for me to able to tolerate more food choices.  I am down 45lbs.
I saw my cousin at Dr. Chung's seminar, and  found out that my cousin had had the surgery and she is doing GREAT!!!!  She has not had any problems.  She said she was 1 month post op.  She had one bad moment with orange juice, BUT other than that she is eating ANYTHING she wants.

May, 2007
The first three weeks post op were great, I really didn't have any serious problems and I lost 20lbs.  My water intake was great.  Then I begin to add pre-mixed protein drinks and different soft food choices and that's when I begin dumping.  The sugar content on the protein drinks was too high on some of them so I stopped drinking them.  Some food choices were to high in carbs, not for the average person, but for me it was too much.  This dumping was horrible, I would get weak, dizzy, feeling faint, heart racing and sweating.  It seems like I was either throwing up, suffering with diarrhea, both or passing out.  the doctor said that my body was going through an adjustment period.  I stayed weak.  Nothing seemed to settle in my stomach.  I was dumping  3 to 4 times a day.  Sometimes I would pass out and sleep for hours.
This went on for weeks and it happened all to often for me and my job, I couldn't return work. on May 30th.

April 29,2007 Emergency Room
Today I woke up and I was in pain.   This morning I contacted my doctors office to explain
about the pain I was in.  I was told that my doctor  didn't provide more pain meds after the first
week post op, and that if I was in that much pain, to go to the emergency room.   I went to church
instead.  Well, by time church was over, that is Sunday School and Baptist church service, my
husband  was speeding me to the emergency room.  I was hurting, doubled over, I could bearly
breath, I didn't know what was going on.  I  was given a shot for pain and prescribed Panlor,
the ER doctor said I had pulled a muscle or two in my stomach.  He said it could have easily have
happened getting up from a sitted or lying position, because the stomach muscles had been cut
during surgery.  He said this happens often to people who have had this type of surgery.

April 21,2007  Emergency Room.
False alarm.  Earlier I had accidentally pulled on my JP bag and later in the day I noticed
what seemed to me to be a purplish color in the drain tube, which would I have bean an indication
of  a leak, thank God in Jesus Christ name, it was just my imagination.

April 17, 2007
Surgery.  My husband and I arrived at the hospital at 8am, I signed in, finshed the rest
of the paper work for the hospital, paid the bill and  1 hour and 45 minutes later we were
called to the back. I stayed in the hospital for two days and a half.  I was really sore and in
some serious pain.  But when they told me I wouldn't be able to leave until I had walked
enough.  I became a hall walking woman every three hours I would take a sip, walk a bit,
get some pain meds, take a sip, go to sleep and get up then do it again.
When I got home I continued with the liquids and I started a walking routine every morning,
things were going really good.  My husband was a great help to me.  I was very surprised that
I really wasn't hunger,  since food has been a friend of mine for a long time.  I feel great!!

     Pre-op scheduled

April 9, 2007
My second visit with Dr.Chung, we discussed the insurance approval, the surgery, any
concerns I may have had  and I receive my pre-op instuctions.

April 6, 2007
I attended an informational seminar hosted by Dr. Chung and I enjoyed it.

March 28, 2007
I was informed that my insurance was approved and I was told that this was one of the
quickest approvals they had gotten, thank you Lord Jesus Christ.

March 21, 2007
Today was my first consultation with Dr. Chung.  Everything went great, it a was very
informative consultation.  My BMI is approx. 40.  and I weighted 220lbs.  I was thinking about getting the Lap Band, but after receiving further information and watching the video, about eating habits and such,
I was leaning towards RNY.
Before going to his office today, I had visited his website and got alot of helpful
information.  I had contacted his office on occassion and had gotten useful information.
I had all ready filled out all of the neccessary paper work  that Dr. Chung required of his
new patients.  I had gone to his website and downloaded all the paperwork I  needed and
filled everything out, I also included  a referral from my doctor.  This helped out alot to
have everything already done when I got there.
Dr. Chung's staff was wonderful.  I met his nurse, Marci, and I would have never guessed
she had had RNY.  Dr.Chung's office also filed my insurance for me.
