Thankful for my surgery

Jan 27, 2009

I am 55 years old and had the surgery on October 15, 2007.  It was the best thing I ever did for myself.  I have lost 110 lbs so far.  The worst thing I could have possibly done after surgery was to try eating chocolate - my goal was to dump so I wouldn't have to think about chocolate or anything sweet for a very long time.   I did not dump.  Unfortunately by not just assuming I would dump, and not eating chocolate, I have put myself through a slower process of losing the weight.  Leave it to me. . . . thinking I could prove that I would not be able to eat chocolate and cure this issue and then find oh yes, you can eat chocolate, and you sabotage the significance of having the surgery.   I am determined to get down to a weight to the weight my surgeon recommends/175 lbs.   I see myself as successful but 1.5 years out - I haven't made it easy on myself.   Anyone considering the surgery, don't play head games with yourself after wards.  Follow the instructions to the T.   My daughter Jenfa79 is now scheduled for surgery.  I pray she learns from my mistakes.   Anyone considering the surgery, take this tool, use it to the max to enrich your life in every way possible.
