October 13 was diagnosed with leak and three abscesses....more to follow!!!
I was admitted to the hospital almost 2 hours away from home! I had test after test done. I kinda wish I kept a journal, but, I didn't. When they went in sometime in October and drained the first two abscesses and left a drain in. I was on TPN until Nov,2nd then they weened me off. I went home with the tube feed and I was on 12 hr feeds daily. I was released from the hospital on Nov.4th, Well Nov 6th I was back in and admitted with another abscesses from the leak. Started back in the hospital my tube fell out, I was soooo darn careful too. It just started coming out of my nose and it wouldn't stop until it was out :(. Bonus was, I got too keep it out for the weekend..LOL! They went in and replaced the drain. and did two open surgeries in two days. A foot long scar on my belly from that. I had lots of leak test and always knew before it was over that it wasn't healed because , when they didn't lay the table down. They asked, "how do you know the leak isn't healed before we tell you.. I said " You don't tilt the table back." You kinda catch on to things after a dozen or so times. They let me go home on December 20th with a wound vac and drain for xmas...Yay! not!..I had the VON coming in until March to tend to my wounds and drain. When the drain came out in March, I got another bad infection. Thought that was it!. Here we are now in April and I feel something may be brewing.
Will keep ya'll updated!
