Hello Debbie: Congrats on your upcoming surgery. My prayer for you - - ....Strengthen your servant, O God, to do what she has to do and bear what she has to bear; that, accepting your healing gifts through the skill of Surgeons and Nurses, she may be restored to usefulness in your world with a thankful heart. Amen.

Butterflys are a great symbol of WLS patients. Like the caterpillar, we move slowly. We are not particularly attractive - and most of us are a bit round. Soon, we enter the cocoon stage, where we hide from everyone and everything, and EAT and SLEEP. Then, when the time is right, we emerge from the cocoon, spread our wings, and when they are dry, we fly off, seeking summer flowers. I love the analogy, and can't think of a thing that is better. So, first the butterflies in your stomach, and in your thoughts - pretty soon, you will have them in your heart, and you will be so proud of yourself, and feeling darn good, too!" Best of luck. Don't forget to wiggle your new wings. :) May God Bless You and Yours.

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery and your new lifetime journey on the losing side. Right now you are probably on a rollercoaster emotionally - excited, nervous, scared.... This is normal - don't let it freak you out. Take the time over the next few days and 'center' yourself mentally - focus your mind on other things and keep yourself physically busy too. You will find that your big day will be here in no time and you will be calm and ready for it. We will be here ready to welcome you over to the losing side and support you in your journey. Good luck and hope everything goes well for you. Sarah G LapRNY 6/22/04 295/264/150
