Merry Christmas and the end of a crazy year is approaching!
Dec 18, 2008
I am thrilled that the end of 2008 is approaching and the beginning of 2009 is right on it's tail. I have had an overall crazy year. RNY surgery, gallbladder surgery, bought a house, started a new job, started working two jobs, lots of friends and family that are going through crap...etc.etc. I am a few days over 8 months out from surgery, and I have so far lost 105lbs. I have so much more energy, patience, and drive...not to mention I'm just overall so much happier. I eat normal. I'm trying to up my protein, and the only thing I have to guard against on a daily basis is constipation :P. So I'm looking forward to a new year. My first year in a long time that I won't be obese. My surgery has changed my life for the better...for the much better. I'm grateful the Lord allowed me to have this tool to make my body and mind healthier, and I vow to use it to the best of my ability. So here's to a crazy 2008 and welcome to a healthier 2009!! God Bless us EVERYONE!1 comment

I am sitting on my couch after a long day of work, counting my blessings. Since my surgery on April 14, 2008, I have already lost 68 pounds. I feel so much better. I have gone from a size 26 to size 18-20, and have tons more energy. I am grateful for my supportive husband, and blessed children. Also, my precious friends and family who love me no matter what size my belt may be. I have just started a new job as a Bariatric Program Coordinator at a hospital here in the valley. I am so excited to use my experience as a nurse and a bariatric patient to help others. God is good all the time.
