I am a 36 year old mom of a 13 and 10 year old. My husband and I have been together for 17 years and married for 12. We live just north of Cincinnati. Unlike a lot of people I have read about on this forum, I was not obese my whole life. In fact, I was an athlete all through school and even went to college on a basketball scholarship. It wasn't until I stopped playing ball and got pregnant with my son that I started to struggle with my weight. Once I packed on the first 50 pounds....it was all over. The weight just kept coming. I am tall (6'3) so my weight is more spread out but weighing 379 is NOT healthy!! I have sleep apnea, depression, bla bla bla...you get the picture! So I am going through all the steps to have WLS early in 2008. I'm trying to decide which type of surgery is best for me, but I'm leaning towards the RNY. I have a blood clotting disorder and take coumadin everyday so that is definitely a risk factor for surgery. I had multiple PE's in September of 06 and lived to tell about it - I don't want to go through that again. So I hope to be thin and healthy again by the end of 08!!!!!
