Pre-Op / Post-Op
Oct 10, 2008
It's hard sometimes for us to see the difference in ourselves, but today I dug up my 2 year pre-op pic.
I was probably well above my pre-op weight of 434 in this picture but I have no idea what it might have actually been.
Even I'm starting to see the difference now. :-)
Cleveland Walk from Obesity - September 27th
Sep 27, 2008
You can sort of see us go by, but just for a second or so at 0:32.

Well that was... easy?
Sep 25, 2008
I took a much longer walk than I normally take today. I've only walked this route three or four times since my surgery.
The first time I was just a wreck by the time I got there. The second the third times I was shaky and in quite a bit of pain, but I still made it.
Today I went out for a short walk and thought what the hell, lets try it again. Well, to my surprise it was almost too easy this time. My joint pain is no better, I don't think that will ever go away, but effort wise, it was just no big deal at all. I actually was able to enjoy it.
Maybe I've finally lost enough so that each pound is going to make it a little easier to get around. One can hope. :-)
Now its time to hit the bottle.... the Aleve bottle.

Some days just plain suck.
More Info - Walk from Obesity, September 27th
Sep 18, 2008
Our team is now up to seven members and is currently the largest registered at the WfO Cleveland site. :-)
Kristen Graf was kind enough to send me this info on where the walk takes place and where it will start.
From what I can make out from the map, the walk will be starting at the
Brookside Valley event site. Registration will be under the covered
pavilion and the walk will kick off from there.

The map in question can be found here.
The Cleveland Metroparks Brookside Reservation is right behind the Cleveland Zoo and it less than a mile from the major highways into the city.
If you are in the NE Ohio area we would love for you to come out and meet us on September 27th.
If you don't want to join the walk, we will probably be having a dinner or informal get together afterward which everyone is welcome at. More info on that soon I hope.

Autumn Approaches
Sep 03, 2008
"I could endure no more. Though dreading such a black, breathless end, I leapt, feet first into horror... feet first into cold and dank mortality.
But the water's surface turned to stone beneath my timber-blistered soles, and the ocean's depths refused to swallow me.
What new torture was this? I stood upon the calm sea, a charnel messiah, unable to sink beneath it to the oblivion I craved.
When would my suffering cease? When would death deign to call upon me? Had his terrible shadow passed me by?
I lifted my uncomprehending eyes to the Heavens... and saw instead the Earth."

Hi Steve,
The walk will be one mile long. However, participants will be given an
hour to walk, so if one wants to do more than a mile that's fine. Let
me know if you have further questions. Thanks
