APPROVED!!!!

Apr 12, 2010

Who-hoo!!  Got a call today at lunch from my insurance company that said I was approved!  I am so excited but it also seems a little bit surreal.  I go in tomorrow a.m. for my pre-op appt and if tomorrow Dr B says we are good to go then I will be having surgery on 4/21 (next wed).

Tuesday is the 6 of 6 visit...

Mar 28, 2010

This coming Tuesday I go back to see Dr B.  This will the 6th visit of my 6 month plan required by insurance; the dr's office will then submit everything to my insurance company for approval.  I so hope that all goes through without a hitch.  This seems like it has been such a long drawn out process and in a way I guess it has since I started it almost 3 years ago.  With Matt dying and the recovery from the worst of that grief taking the better part of 2 years; I'm just ready to get started on my new life and reclaim happiness again.   In a lot of ways, it seems as if I have kept my life on hold since Matt died and I guess in a way I did put parts of my life on hold but now that school is done and I have my diploma, if I can get my surgery done, I can start on the "new" rest of my life and start living again.

I am so excited to hear the word "approved" and pray that day will come sooner rather than later.  So hoping Dr B is happy with my progress on Tuesday and praying that the insurance approval comes through quickly!

Psych eval, nut consult and exercise physiologis visit

Sep 10, 2009

Well, today was the day.

Met with the psychologist to see if I was "fit" for surgery.  He said I was within the normal range, to which I replied. "yeah, I'm normal".  He laughed and said, "I didn't say you were normal ,  just that you were within normal ranges" (LOL).  But got a thumbs up from him  (yea!!!)

Then met with my nut to get my pre-surgery diet.  Have to lose 33 lbs before I can be scheduled for surgery.  She put me on a pretty aggressive diet plan so that I can lose it as fast as possible.  Since it looks like I will be a self-pay, no reason to piddle around and waste time.  Get it done and over with, so I can get to my surgery and start the rest of my "new" life.  Soi gonna start that as soon as I get paid and can make a grocery store run.....in the meantime, just gonna keep eating my healthy foods I had already bought and lots of walking.

Exercise Physiologist just asked me to walk 30 min/3 days a week..  That should be no problem but think I'll keep walking 4-5 days pr/wk.  No reason to exercise less...right?

Anyway....felt like I am on the right path and am making slow steady progress... Can't wait to start my new life.
