Today, I look forward to the rest of my life.

I got my surgery date, June 5, 2007.  It has actually been a short road traveled.  I looked at this for some time, but it took my orthopedic surgeon to tell me that if I didn't get weight off, I would be his youngest knee replacement.  "Girl, you need bariatric surgery" was about his exact words.  Calculating my BMI, it was 57.  Way far from the "normal" range.

That was August 2006.  I got an information packet form 4 hospitals, made some visits and talked to my primary care physician.  Today is April 25, and I am approved and have my date.   My insurance was a hold up because my company changed carriers during my authorization process, but my new carrier is UHC, and they have been wonderful, and I got an approval for surgery in under three weeks.

I just don't know how to express how I feel right now.
