I found out today that I am not and will never be eligible for WLS because I struggle with ocd, anxiety, depression and binge eating and I used to have a problem with cutting myself when I was younger. I am so crushed. The thought of getting the RNY has been what has kept me afloat the last several months. It's been in my thoughts every waking moment. It's been my motivation for the 63 pounds that I have dropped in anticipation and preparation for my surgery... the surgery I will never have.Has anyone out there been told they were not eligible because of mental reasons? Should I get a second opinion? Is there any hope left at all for WLS in my future or is it a lost cause? Any info or insight would be much appreciated.
