I haven't posted in a while, but here goes...
I finally lost my required amount of weight for insurance approval. Centennial sent everything off and within 7 days (on July 10th) I was approved. I went for my surgical consultation with Dr. Olsen on July 26th. My surgery is now scheduled for September 17th. I'm so excited and nervous!!
I'm gettin' there!

I only have 8 more pounds to lose before reaching my goal. I have been counting calories and working out using the gazelle about 4 nights a week for about 20 minutes which is equal to burning 200 calories. I'm not depriving myself of food I am just eating in moderation. I am still trying to learn all I can about the surgery and how it will change my life if I use it properly. It is just now really sinking in that I am on my way to having a major life changing surgery.

I have a total of 36 pounds to lose and I am halfway there! I have worked so hard trimmimg carbs and walking that I feel like I should have lost so much more but I will take what I can get and just be grateful. I am at a stupid plateau period at this point and the scales haven't budged any in 2 weeks, but I'm hanging in there. I know that I MUST lose the weight in order to have the surgery. Knowing that and having such wonderful inspirational people on these boards will pull me through. I just have to stay focused on my main goals which is getting approved, getting surgery and getting healthy.
I went to another seminar at Centennial. This time it was with Dr. Houston. At first I thought he was goofy but I left with the feeling that he was very competent and very down to earth. He seems to really care for his patients' success and well-being. I had already made up my mind that I was choosing Olsen as my surgeon but after the seminar I have decided to go with Houston. It seems like I have talked to at least a hundred different people who have chose Houston and they have been very pleased with their surgery and his care. I have only talked to one or two people who have had their surgery with Olsen. The success stories from the ladies on these boards more than testify that Houston is an awesome and capable surgeon. Hopefull before long I can share my success story with others as well.

I am in the process of TRYING to lose 36 pounds thanks to my insurance company. I have to lose 10% of my weight before they will approve. I am doing the low carb diet hoping to shed these pounds. My goal is to lose the weight by May 1st. I hope I can do it. Wish me lots of luck!!!
