Post Op Rny-Week 1

So my first week had some good and bad points to it. I got a little too cocky around day 4 because I wasn't in much pain and had a few bites of egg salad which stayed down fine. I wasn't supposed to start on eggs until today (the start of week 2) but I was just soo hungry because I wasn't really getting enough protein from the broth and other liquids. Then I did the unspeakable and ate a cookie on day 5. I was at work and someone offered me one and I just forgot about everything. Fortunately I didn't do any damage because I ate it very slow and it passed just fine, but it scared me because for the first time I realized just how important the mental part of surgery is. I want to start going to counseling to help fight this addiction. It has been a struggle getting in enough fluids, but I get more in every day and finally surpassed by 64 oz goal yesterday. Water, jello and crystal light kind of sugar sweetners make me gag and cause a lot of gas, but I finally bought some diet juice yesterday and did just fine. I'm drinking muscle milk protein shakes and feel full and satisfied. I've lost 26 pounds (including the 14 lbs I lost from the 2 week pre-op diet) and a few people are starting to notice a change.
