My story is evolving. I am a 30 yr old woman who has always exuded oodles and oodles of energy. I decided after a fall in my kitchen last winter to lengthen my life and expand its quality by persuing gastric-bypass surgery. I have taken my goal of achieving a better quality of life very seriously. I am motivated, and after a looong insurance battle, I have earned it.
You won't read about me using terms like "proud to be a loser", because for so long, I was truly content in a plus-sized body. However, the pain throughout my body grew, and I knew that my body as it was would no longer work for me. I have been overweight since age 14, more than half of my life. People come in all shapes and sizes, and I respect that 100%. Each person must decide for themselves what works and what does not. I am ready to embrace a healthier lifestyle.
