What A Weekend

May 10, 2010

For the last 17 years that  I have been celebrating mother's days, I would have to say this was probably the most exciting.

To start the weekend off, on Saturday my younger ones (Savanna 8 and Peter 7) had softball and baseball games. Well, Savanna's game was canceled because the other team didn't show up. (They must have been scared of our power hitters.) The coach decided to let the parents and girls play a game together. What fun this was. I had not played softball since high school a long, long time ago. I wasn't sure how I was going to do, but I did just fine. I hit the ball, ran the bases, and played in the field. Then it was time for Peter's game. He did just fine.

Later that evening we went to the Corpus Christi Hooks game and sat out in the grass area. It was so nice cause the kids could run around and play while my husband and I were able to sit on the fresh grass and enjoy the game. The last baseball game we had gone to was about 3 years ago to the California Angels. I couldn't enjoy the game cause the seats were so small I couldn't get comfortable.

And then Sunday, all of the grand kids (my husband is 17 years older then me so I have step kids my age) came over and played in our huge blow up slide and we bar-b-qued. The day was so beautiful. There was a nice breeze and in the shade it was just right.

The entire weekend was just perfect for a great Mother's Day.

Boy Scout Camp

Apr 22, 2010

Once again I had a blast with my kids.

This weekend the family and I went camping with the boy scouts. We did BB gun shooting, bow n arrows, hiking, hiking, and more hiking. The best part was that I was able to keep up with 7 year old boys.

This is something I wouldn't have been able to do and have fun with before WLS. I am so grateful for this tool and look forward to many more years of spending wonderful, fun times with my kids.

So much fun!!!

Mar 21, 2010

I am so tired and have slept alot of the day. But it was so worth it.

Last night the girl scouts had an all night skating party. It was so much fun. It was the first time in 20 years since I had done anything like this and I felt great. My daughter and I skated (without me falling) until about 4 a.m. We went to take a brake and fell asleep. She was so upset in the morning when I woke her up at 6 a.m. cause we had missed out on a couple of the games that she had wanted to play. I told her that I tried to wake her, but she was out.

Anyways, I wouldn't have done this before wls and I am looking forward to doing it again. I'm even thinking about buying skates to take the kids to the park and get a new and exciting exercise in.

The New Me!!!

Feb 12, 2010

I finally did it!  I got the courage up to cut my hair. I'm a hair stylist and cut hair all day long, but I was too afraid to cut my own. I have always had long hair. One time about 10 years ago I cut my hair short and I looked awful. I wanted to go buy a wig. I looked like I had this little head on this big huge body. I said I would never cut my hair again.

Well, being everything that my body has gone through these last few months, my hair was just awful. It needed to come off. One of the girls I work with said,"just do it! You're skinny now and you're gonna look HOT!!!"

SO I DID IT!!! I LOVE IT!!! It was husband acceptable.

WOOHOO!

Jan 31, 2010

WooHoo... I finally got over my weight loss stoll. I stepped on the scale this morning and i weighed in at 174. Also I bought a size 10 jeans this weekend because they were only $7.00 (couldn't pass them up) I didn't think they would fit (or if they did it would be very tight) cause my 11-12 are just a little loose, but when I got home I went ahead and tried them on... THEY FIT!!! Another goal accomplished, each size I go down and every 10 lbs. is another goal.

New Beginnings

Jan 24, 2010

I had my surgery September 1, 2009. It was the first day of the rest of my life. I was at my highest wieght ever at 262 lbs. I would look at myself and all I could see was that I was following the footsteps of my mom and grandma. I needed to do something to stop the cycle. Both my mom and grandma died in thier early 50's and me being 35 with kids said, "I need to be here for them and live longer. I want to see my grandkids grow up!" My kids are young still, but are always saying how much they miss grandma and I remember when I was young when my grandma passed away. So I did it! It was the most exciting yet scary expirience of my life, but I would change it for anything. There are no regrets. I am now a little over 4 months post-op and have lost 84 lbs. I'm not sure what size I was wearing before cause everything I bought had to have elastic, but I am in an 11-12 now and they are even starting to fit loose. I have had people do a double take cause they didnt recognize me it had been so long since they had seen me. I am so excited about my success that I am even trying to get both my sisters to get the surgery done cause they are both much bigger then I was. We'll have to see how that goes later.
