Happy 1yr and 2mos Surgiversary to me!

Feb 07, 2012

HAPPY ONE YEAR & 2 MONTHS SURGIVERSARY TO ME! (what a mouth full lol)So much has been going on that I don't even know where to begin. I'll cut right to the chase. I have surpassed my 1yr surgiversary and did not even have the time to blog, talk about it or even celebrate. No one really seemed as happy as I felt. I just brushed it off and kept it moving. On December 20th, 2011 I had to have surgery, laproscopic diagnostic (spelled it the best I could). Although My hubby was there with me, I felt so alone. I am in desperate need of a support group or to be around others who have had some sort of WLS. I am finding it more and more difficult to deal with everyone confronting me about how I've lost so much weigh. WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE???? I am beyond frustrated but yet in still I continue to *smile*.

Some days are better than others with my food intake and my emotions. There are days that I want to eat everything and anything and there are those days that I eat exactly what I am supposed to eat and the way that I am supposed to eat. I am having extreme difficulty with getting rid of my old clothes that are so so very big for me! I don't know what is going on with me! I should be ecstatic to get rid of them. My hubby has had to bag them up and the farthest I will allow him to take them is the garage! INSANE! I have had a few emotional breakdowns. Some have been based on how frightened I am to go back to where I came from and the overwhelming feeling of how far I have yet to go on this journey. Other days the tears are of joy & pride because of how far I have come on this journey. Such a mixed bag of emotions and feelings I am right now...

On a good note, I am finally a member of a gym and I have gone from doing Zumba once a week to 5x a week! Yay me! I was tired of walking 2x a day and had started running and walking farther distances 1x a day but still that became boring and mundane. So now I have access to a full gym facility! It's been something that I wanted for a long time but it just wasn't in our budget. But my magnificent hubby says where there's a will, there is a way!!! He said he will work it out all I have to do is work out! LOL!

Weight Loss Update: My total weight loss to date is 149lbs and I am currently weighing 134lbs!!! Woo Hoo! My start weight was 283lbs! I have gone from wearing a 26-28 to 6s and 8s!!! Most of my tops and jackets/coats are size small only a few are medium. Anything over medium is too big! I never thought I'd ever say that!!! I can fit my 14yo daughter's clothes that she no longer desires to wear. I raid her closet and all of the thrift shops in this area. My favorite place to find nice little treasures is Value Village! I love that place. Just about 90% of my wardrobe comes from there. (Pictures from New Year's Eve posted.)

I don't know if my journey will ever be over or if I will ever in fact reach the end of my journey. Many people get to their 1yr Surgiversary and say "I've completed my journey." I don't quite have that same feeling. For me, my journey is a life long journey hence I have a made a lifestyle change which is a journey that will never end. I will continue on this journey one day at a time...
