Well good news. I got approved to go ahead with the psycological testing. The appointment isn't till September 5th. I was hoping it would be sooner because the sooner I get that done the sooner I can get an approval for rhe surgery. I hope everything works out. So far so good. I have read so many different things about my insurance. Some people say they were approved right away and others had to appeal. I wonder if my somewhat lower BMI will have any effect on that. I hope not. All I can do is wait........

 
I had my appt yesterday with the  pychologist. It cost me $35 for my co-pay to talk to him for 5 minutes. He then scheduled me for another appt with a counselor for today and a 2 hour psycological test on a computer. But today they called and said my insurance hasn't approved the test yet. So I have to pay another $35  today  to see the counselor and who knows how much next time. It's all about the money with them (and I didn't even really like the psycologist!) My insurance company says it could take 2 to 3 weeks to approve the testing. uggg! Geeze and then another 3 to 4 weeks for the approval for the surgery. I am ready to get this started.. But I guess there is a reason for everything, and when it's time it will happen. I just have to trust in God and wait on his timing. He has never failed me yet!

It seems like its been forever that I started this journey but it's only been a few weeks. I had my consultation appt. with Dr. Finley on July 30th which also happened to be my 5oth birthday! I went in wanting the lap band and came out set on the VSG. Then the next day I was in to see my PCP for an EKG, blood work ,(to check for hypothyroidism) and a letter of medical neccesitity all of which are required by my insurance. Then on August 6th it was off to see  my dietician,, That went well except most of the information she gave me was for GBS.. I know its not all that different but she wasn't really up to date on VSG. But she did teach me alot. It was a help and I am glad she will be  there for me whenever I need her. On the 15th I have an appt with the psycoligist.. Then all I have to do is write down my diet success and failures (ohh so many) and we'll submit to my insurance.. Geeze it's taking soooo long!
