April 2012

Apr 26, 2012

Well not only did I compete in San Antonio and got 3rd place.  I also competed in Austin and won 1st place in Novice division.  I got over my extra skin issues!!!  I did realize I still do not have my food under control.  I had a goal to compete in April, however I injured my should in February so my goal was canceled.  Then the eating began.  I put on 5-8 lbs.  I am now back on track and 5 lbs are off this week.  I can see that this will be a life long battle with food.  Life is good!!  God is great!

7 weeks to go

Sep 18, 2011

I can hardly believe in 7 weeks, I will be in a bikini on stage competing in a body building competition.  I have gone through alot since my last update.  My husband left me for another woman. I have more bills than money and just trying to figure it all out.  I went to personal training school in Dallas and my 30 year class reunion.  (now that was fun!)

I am taking care of me for the first time in my life.  My son is grown and it is all me.  During this minor hiccup, I realized that I have beaten the stress eating.  Can you believe we can actually exercise to take care of that stress and not eat?

Believe me when I say, Life is good and GOD IS GREAT!!!    Next Saturday, I will be taking my certification test to be a personal trainer so I can help other people accomplish their goals and dreams...

Gaining weight/cosmetic surgery

Mar 18, 2011

So on my last post, I discussed not getting on a scale.  Well, I had to get on the scale after being off for a month and guess what?  I gained weight.  I wouldn't be excited if I didnt get the muscle to go along with it.  My body is totally transforming WITHOUT cosmetic surgery!!  It is simply amazing.

I have gained eight pounds without going up in size.  I am so excited.  I can't imagine what I will weigh and look like closer to competition!

I am one week away from my 1/2 marathon.  I hope my knees hold up for the entire race.  I will let you know...Say a prayer for me.

New Year, New Visions!

Jan 05, 2011

Wow!  I can hardly believe that I haven't updated my page since September.  Since then I achieved my final goal that i posted originally on this site of walking a 3 day, 60 mile walk!  Wow!  It was absolutely amazing!

I am ranging from 139-142 normally and I am very good with that.  I did put on a few pounds over Christmas but working on that by eliminating some of those extra foods that I normally wouldn't eat.

So, I had to set bigger and better goals this year to keep me accountable so I decided that I will be running a 1/2 marathon this March for Susan G. Komen and I decided to compete in a body building competition this October at Lackland AFB in San Antonio Texas!  My t raining started yesterday and oh boy it was an eye opener.

This is what I will be learning this year!  Do not chase a number on a scale, exercise hard and fuel your body in order to do so.  What give up the scale because it will be going up! Yikes that messes with my head.

After my competition, I will be trying to obtain my certification or degree as a personal trainer!  I want to help other people to obtain their goals.  I think after my weight loss, 1/2 marathon, and body building competition I will be taken seriously after these accomplishments.  I am learning from the best in the industry in my opinion.

I will try to keep you posted as much as possible but between a new FT job, new dog running PT job, new body building training and taking care of hubby, five dogs and a bird my time is scarce!!!  Love to you all...

Easy way out? Really?

Sep 28, 2010

So has anyone said to you, oh I will loose weight the old fashion way.  I say to them, I do loose it the old fashion way.  I wake up every morning at 3:20 am, encourage myself to go exercise.  When I am done exercising, I have to decide what healthy food I am going to eat today.  I try to make sure I don't eat more than my body needs cuz this maintenance is really hard!  I am also have to make sure I provide my body the nutrients it needs to be healthy.  Then I hope that today that my body doesn't reject something I am eating and love!  So, if you have a better way to loose weight, please share it with me.  I would love not to wake up this early 6 days a week.

Update: I have maintained for almost 7 months which is really exciting to me.  That means I am still at goal and I haven't given up.  I do cherish the gift I have been giving but I also hope I can help encourage or inspire just one person to make a change in their life that is as rewarding.

I still struggle with "bad" food!  I still love it! My head still wants it! that is probably why I just cant get to 135.  Oh well, perhaps I am not suppose to be there.  I love the way my body it looking these days.  I am really enjoying life and just hope and pray I can update you with the same positive results in a few more months.

Oh by the way, It is 4:09 am and I am getting ready to do a 6 mile run!!

August 1, 2010

Aug 01, 2010

Not alot to report from the last time I wrote something.  Since the last time,  I did decided that I need to run a marathon.  Don't ask me why, I have no idea,  perhaps because I can?   Since August 2009, I have walked/ran 2004 miles and Since Jan 1, 2010.  I have walked/ran 1192.  I really want to change my careers and help people succeed in their weighloss struggles.  Perhaps start a gym for WLS patients?  Who knows.

I have overcome the scale issue.  I decided if I need to weigh, I do it at odd times of the day.  That way I never know how much I really weigh.  Example:  I will weigh after I drink alot of fluids and eat breakfast.  As long as I am under 145 I don't freak out too bad.  I do wish I could get to 138 but that doesn't look like it is in the cards for me.

I have also purchased two books.  One for first time marathoners and another is about nutrition.  I didn't realize how important healthy carbs are for your body to work properly.  This doesn't mean refine sugars, it just means healthy carbs.  Oh well, sounds like I am rambeling so I will say good bye for now.  Just remember to love yourself no matter what you weigh...You deserve that!!
