Well, like many of you, I'm sure, I've dieted for years and years and spent a ton of money on diets that have only assisted me in temporary weight loss, as it has always come back.  I'm 38 years old and I've yo-yo'd in excess of 50, 75 & 100lbs up and down since I was 19 years old.  I've been on Jenny Craig for the last 2 years and have lost over 70lbs.  As I have another 75lbs to go and I've already spent $10,000 on this program, I'm seeing my old habits start to creep back and I need to make a permanant change in my life once and for all.  I'm a self-payer as my Scott & White Insurance will not cover the surgery for me.  This won't be easy financially for my family but I'm willing to make the sacrifices and I know my family is happy for me as well.  Heck, I've been ready for years!  I've met w/several surgeons and attended their seminars and I've chosen to go with Dr. Nilesh Patel and have the RNY.  I have a great support group of friends and co-workers but it's not the same as having people who have gone through the exact same thing you have gone (or will be going) through as is with the TMB & OH webites.

I've been reading this site for awhile now and decided to join when I decided on a surgeon.  I'm hoping to have a surgery date in November.  I'm just waiting on my Psych results to come back for them to confirm I'm doing this surgery for the right reasons.  Keeping my fingers crossed and continuing to read everyone's advice.
