Onederland woohoo!!!

Jul 11, 2010

Well I stepped on the scale today and Im officially back in onederland!!! This is so exciting!! Its been less than 2 months and Im well on my way to my goal, only 74.5lbs left to go (which doesn't seem to bad considering I lost almost 40 in about 6 weeks).

Craving

Jul 06, 2010

Man Im having a midnight craving for some ground spiced turkey meat wrap in lettuce... something kinda like what they have at PF Changs. I don't know if I could tolerate the lettuce though... maybe I will try a tiny bit tomorrow.

Bike Riding

Jul 05, 2010

Today my daughter and I went on a bike ride, I forgot how much I enjoyed the feeling of the wind rushing by me! I haven't been on a bike in quite some time, and Im guessing it is because when your fat the seat is very uncomfortable and if you fall there a greater chance you could seriously hurt yourself. It was so nice to get up and play with my daughter, its hard to do that when your extremely overweight. I look forward to doing it again soon :-).

I made it to the other side!!!

May 29, 2010

Well my surgery was on the 27th, and I don't think things could have gone better. I got home around 2pm today (the 29th), and my pain is very minimal. I really thought I would be experiencing unbearable pain, but Im not! Im a little sore but I can move around pretty well and Im tolerating liquids like a champ. I cant believe how little pain there is, maybe it was the skillful surgeon (Dr. Mir Ali), but the has been one of the least painful surgeries I've ever had (I've had at least 5).  Well I just wanted to update everyone in how I was doing, thank you all for the prayers and support.

1 week to go!!!

May 19, 2010

I cant believe I only have one week left till surgery.  Ive waited for this for so long. It almost didnt happen due to a mixup at my surgeons office, and other doctors taking their sweet time to have important documents sent to my surgeon. I did it though I made the best of my situation, picked up the slack for those not doing their jobs properly, and now i can just relax for the next 7 days.

I've got a date!!!!

Dec 21, 2009

I am so excited because today I finally scheduled a date for surgery. On May 27th 2010 I will once again start my weight loss journey (hopefully this one will be for good). May seems so far away and its hard to stomach the thought (no pun intended) of going through another semester in my present condition. Im tired all the time, constantly in pain, and become winded with even the slightest exertion. I think even more than looking forward to being "skinny" I am looking forward to being comfortable again. I've forgotten what's its like to feel comfortable in whatever I wear or when laying down.  Wish me luck on my new journey and please keep me in your prayers.

GREAT NEWS!!!!

Oct 25, 2009

I have awesome news guys (and girls) I got my approval letter for the gastric bypass. I can believe how fast the process was it literally took two days worth of meeting (psych. eval, support group, etc) to submit my letter then less than a week later I wake up to my approval letter. This is such a gift from God. Im so excited!!! I haven't set a date yet but Im hoping Dr. Peter Leport's office can squeeze me in around early December, so I can time to heel before school starts again in January. Wish me luck guys, Im so happy its really beyond words.

Oh on another note, can anyone tell me how to change my surgery type and bariatric surgeon on my profile? I really would like that information to be current but cant figure out how to change it.

Its been awhile

Aug 28, 2009

Well OH community a lot has changed since I last posted. First off I've been back in California for about 2 years now. I also suffered a slippage not too long after coming back. So for the past 2 years I've been trying various diets, programs, and exercises only to have the weight slowly creep back on. Im now working with the state medical insurance (medi-cal) to try to get approve for a sleeve (first choice) or a RNY (last resort). This time I decided on the sleeve because it is less invasive and there is no intestinal rerouting, so malnutrition and vitamin deficiency would be less likely to occur. I will have my first consult with Dr.Leport, in Fountain Valley, soon. Wish me luck guys, hopefully this time the weight loss will be for good.
