One Week and 4 Days Post-Op and the Worst Traveling Experience

Dec 22, 2009

Hi guys.....sorry I've been MIA.  I was out of town and I left my laptop at home b/c I didn't feel like dragging it through the airport, lol.  Anyhow....things have been going great, besides the hunger pains, lol.  I have only 3 more days to go til I can eat something different (only soft foods though).  I'm proud of myself for being able to last 2 weeks on a liquid diet.  I know I've lost weight, but I'm not going to post my weight loss until my first fill appointment which is set for Jan. 8th.  Can you believe that I have a fill already scheduled after 4 weeks?......hmmmm...guess they're professionals and know what they're doing but I didn't expect to have a fill until after my follow up appt with my doctor.

Today has been pretty rough for me.  I traveled up north and seeing as how I live in TX, my body was not used to all that snow and cold weather so needless to say, I got sick.  Not to mention being sick, I also had the worse traveling experience EVER.  My plane was over 2 hours late  and we were sitting on the runway waiting for a part to come in for the plane and for the plane to be de-iced.  Well......while sitting on the plane for over 2 hours, a passenger got sick and needed paramedics to take them off the plane.  By this time I'm completely pissed off.  So I called reservations and asked them to change my flight immediately.  So the customer service rep changes my ticket to a flight that's leaving in less than 10 mins so I had to run down to the gate.....and once I got there, they told me the plane was completely full and that I would have to be put on standby....now ain't that a b****....all that damn running for nothing.  So after I'm damn near in tears and pissed off to the highest of pisstivity (yes that is a word, lol) they call my name over the intercom and say I can board the plane.  Now keep in mind that I'm sick and having to blow my nose, sneeze and cough every other min or so and people start looking at me all crazy up side the head.  "My god, haven't you people seen someone sick before", is what I was thinking to myself.  Anyhow, I make back to DFW, only to find that my bag has been lost and now I have to wait for it to arrive at the airport.  The person who was supposed to pick me up from the airport, left a message on my phone saying that they couldn't pick me up, so I thought to myself that's fine....I can just take a cab home considering that I only live about 10 mins away from the airport.  So I get in the cab and the guys tells me that I have to pay a minimum of $22.00.  Now by this time I'm hot .  So at this point I really don't have a choice and I take the ride home and angrily pay the $22.00 and go into the house.  I've just taken me some meds and I'm about to go nite nite.
