I have been over weight for years and years. In fact I started to diet when I was ten years old. At one time I worked in Las Vegas as a cocktail waitress for 12 years. To keep my weight down I ate 2 containers of non fat yogart, once a day, for a year. On the weekend I had maybe 2 pieces of chicken and cereal. Not too healthy. But that was the only way I could keep my weight down. The rest of the time I was starving to keep the weight off. I would eat a lean cruisine for dinner and nothing else all day. When I left Las Vegas I really started to gain the weight. After much thought I have deceided to go with the surgery. I saw Dr. Blackstone first. Then I went to the Mayo Clinic but that would have been too difficult with my work schedule. People where I work then told me about Dr. Juarez. I liked him immediately. For me he turned out to be the best choice.

Oct 21st- Well I think all I need now is the final evaluation from Dr.Maxwell. I go Oct. 27th. I have my fingers crossed I don't need anything else. Its been a long journey and a LOT of testing. Can't wait to get this done and start living again.

July 17th- Time flies. MY husband has had a heart attack this past year so things have been tuff. But I have a great job with great insurance so that's a blessing. With all the stress I'm surprised my hair didn't start to fall out again. It was fine till I had my gallballder surgery. But its grown back. I have now lost over 135lbs. I'm so glad I had the surgery. I would never had the energy or stamina these past few months to weather my husbands health. I'm so grateful and happy I had wls.

Oct 30th- Found out I need paperwork to show I have seen a doctor in 2005. I never saw one so now my surgery may be delayed. This is going to wear me out.

Nov.1st-Yippee. Approved. Finally approved. I don't think I will be able to sleep tonight I am so  happy.

Nov.26th.- I have not heard anything from my doctors office staff and have not received the paperwork that was suppose to be sent out. I spoke to Diane about two weeks ago but nothing has arrived. I do know I need a cardiac and pulmonary clearance not required by my insurance but requried by my doctor. I have been reading the post and I have deceided to get them done on my own. I know Banner will als schedule them but since I haven't received any paperwork might as well get them done myself. The approval for the surgery is set for Dec. 27th bearing all goes well. I wish I had a little more support from my doctors office staff. I do have to say Angelia was great in getting me approved. She was on top of it. Will call again Monday.

Nov.?-Finally received my paperwork. Shock I am scheduled for St.Lukes not Banner. I don't want to make a fuss about it fearing my surgery will get postponed. Oh well. Kelly from St.Lukes called my immediately. She has set up my testing. Passsed my pulmonary test which I was so scared of. Now I need the cardiac clearance. Getting really nervous now that its all falling into place.

Dec. 13th -Went for my pre-op. That was really really hard. I got up too fast off the bed after the arterial blood gas test and got dizzy. It stayed with me for two days. Don't want to go thur this again.

Dec. 19th. Got my cardiac clearance. All of a sudden I feel great. Called Dr.Juarez office and yes everything that I needed has been received. Diana has been great. Can't wait to be a looser

Dec. 20th -Rhonda is my angel. I have met some really nice people from the board. I feel like I known Rhonda for years.

Jan.13th- Gee I cannot belive its being this long since I've posted. Surgery was on the 27th. All went well. But I gained 8lbs during my stay. For that I could have had pizza. Oh well. Have lost that weight and 16 more lbs in 2 1/2 weeks. Some loose faster but I'm thrilled. No major complications. Feeling better everyday. Dr.Juarez did a fantastic job. Just started puree foods. WOW never thought I be so happy to have puree foods. Oh well. Its a  new beginning. Its a new way of life.

Jan 28th -I'm having my first experience with dumping. I ate some chicken and it feels awful. Tried to throw it up but it just wants to sit there. That's what I get for feeling so good. I need to remember how sensitive my stomach is.

March 6th- Wow has it been this long since I posted anything. I am down 45 pounds. I feel great and have a lot more energy and yes can eat chicken. My biggest and only problem has been severe constipation. I am going to see my surgeon today as it has become almost unbearable. If not for that I could not even tell I had the surgery. My stomach feels great and I have gone down 2 sizes. Would recommend the surgery. It is giving me my life back.

April 6th- I am now down 61 pounds. None of my clothers fit. YIPPEE. I feel great even conquered the dreaded constipation problem. I am now eating most foods but will wait to eat salads till I'm 4 months. That is what my doctor recommends. I have made a decision not to even attempt to eat anything like cake, pie, or anything along that line. I want to be healthy for the rest of my life. Life is good

June 7th- Haven't posted in so long. I have now lost 82 lbs. My clothes swim on me. I feel better then ever. We just bought a new house and I have the energy to help move. Life is good.

Sept. 1st- Down 102 lbs. I now wear a size 12-14 pant. I no longer buy plus size clothing. No complications. Still eating healthy. Would do this wls again (only with Dr.Juarez) in a heartbeat.

Oct. 16th- Well I had the dreaded Glallbladder removed. Long story short it was extremly painful in addition to being infected, oversized, enflamed, and so many stones they stopped counting. I even gained 14lbs. during my 5 day stay at the Mayo hospital (since I had complications). That is falling off very quickly. Besides that all is good with my surgery.
