Excuse me? WTF? But, she was going to attempt to get a new date for the preop class before then. I was feeling really down thinking "I'm going o have to wait until May!!! BUt, lo and behold I got a call at  3;00 t schedule all my pre ops with a March 31st surgery date. GO ME!

My paperwork is at the insurance company

Feb 23, 2008

Received an email from Mildred at Dr. Johnson's office and the paperwork was faxed on Friday to the insurance company.  I'm so excited, hopefully I will hear this coming week that I've been approved and we can begin looking at a date.

I've found that I spend a lot of money on food TONS! I definitly need to find some friends or at least one friend that I can hang out with. I have the sterotypical relationship with food that it is my friend. I hang out with it all weekend and I've realized now that just like any other toxic friend I have to let it go. I have slipped back into a pattern of eating everything that taste good adthat is bad for me and not finding replacement foods. that are healtheir and better for me. Hopefully I'll have another post with some good news by this time next week!

Fights with the surgeon's office

Feb 17, 2008

If you read my latest post it seems like the next post would be I finally got my date...but nope...tht's not  the case yet..  I called and spoke with Dr. Johnson's office on Wednesday and they have asked me to give them a couple days to go through the paperwork.  I'm like "WHAT" you've been going through it because YOU'RE the one that has been telling me what I needed. The Nut told me at my visit on Feb 5th it looks as if all ou need is your letter of medical necessity  and the support group meeting(which I was going to the support the following day and Friday to my new PCP for the letter of medical necessity that my isnraunce compan doesn't need but since most insurance ask for it they wanted me to get it as well.  The last thing that they needed was my weight history, my insurance company stated all they needed was a statement stating that I have been overweight for at least 3 years. Dr. Johnson's office wants me to have the actual weights for 5 years becuse that's what all the insurance company wants.  So, I called my ob/gn the only doctor I've gone to consistently for the past 5 years AGAIN (my first call was in December second in January) and the girl tells me that they don't have my medical release in my chart. So, I ask her if I send it over right now will I still have to wait the 7 days to get this stuff faxed over to my surgeon.  She said she didn't know....ya don't know? How in the HELL am I suppose to get anything done when everyone walks around actging as if  they don't care.....Well on Monday I'll be giving everyone a call since I don't have to work to make sure that my paperwork gets faxed to the insruance company THIS week otherwise I'ma go off! Until next time......

Finally...

Feb 08, 2008

I have finally gotten all of my paperwork for the insurance company.  I will admit that it has not been as stressful as most since I administer our health benefits and have a working relationship with the nurses at our insurance company.  So, they have been very helpfful helping me get all the information that I need.  The last thing on the Dr. Johnson's list was that I needed a letter of medical neccessity, even though I did not need it for insurance the surgeon wanted to have it.  I haven't gone to my PCP in many years used specialist, so I moved during this process and used that as an excuse to change PCO's to have the letter written.

I'm having the bypass like most I don't want to lose the weight slowly.  I have lost 40-50 lbs 3 or 4 times through diet and exercise and I could never mnanage to get it all back off. So, the lapband was what we got me through the door but I decided that for me he bypass would cause more success. Plus, m husband and I are ready for kids and i want to lose all the weight before I put my body through another change.

Plus, I really need the carrot(the fact of reaching my goal sooner) and the stick(if I eat something I shouldn't I may be sick)
