Can't say 'thank you' enough

Feb 02, 2012

Almost nine years ago I had a procedure would ultimately help save my life. It was the beginning of allowing me to gain control of a food addiction and help me start to make changes in my lifestyle. I had to change and sacrifice much in my life to achieve success.
However, I'm not the only one that sacrificed along the way. Today I was reminded of others in my life that made sacrifice and suffered in silence with me. My parents have been nothing short of incredible in my journey and suffered with quiet tears and frustrations. Today, after seeing a television show I felt the need to acknowledge their support and thank them again. Following is the personal note I sent. Please say thank you to somebody in your life that has supported you in your journey.
"Mom and Dad",

I'm just watching a television show called "My 600 pound Life". It chronicles the last 7 years of 4 of the heaviest people in history. They each received gastric bypass to help save their lives. I'm definitely in the same weight range as most of them. Did you see the show? It's Wednesday nights on TLC.

It's very emotional to watch for sure and i'm instantly brought back to the day I was lying all by myself in a strange hospital thinking I might be minutes away from death.

There is one scene that shows how difficult it was on family to sit helplessly as she ate her life away and how the family had to sit and wait as she went through surgery.

It just made me think of you guys and how helpless you must have felt as I went through my life journey, the suffereing out of control and the surgery. If I haven't said it in a long time but I need you to know how thankful I am for my life and for all the great things that you provided for me. I'm sorry that my pain had to take a toll on your life as well.

Life is different now and the journey continues in a very great way. I guess some things in life just take a little more time to blossom. And right now I feel like I'm in full bloom.

Love you !
