I'm 27 soon to be 28, have been married for 4 years, have two dogs - Maya and Roxie, am an avid scrapbooker, LOVEphotography, love to travel, I'm easy going, love people, and can't wait to become a mother. We've been trying to have a child for going on 5 years now to no avail.  I'm hoping once I get my weight under control that I can begin tackling fertility issues. *fingers crossed*
I've battled weight all my life and am ecstatic at the possibly to have the chance to finally have a stepping stone with which to finally  be anything but obese! I remember being tormented as a child in school, not swimming a lot as a child because I was too scared of being made fun of by other kids. I would love to be able to walk into a regular store like Old Navy and be able to pick something off the rack - not have to run to the back of the store find the largest size and pray it fits! I envy friends who can walk into a store and be like I'm a size 6 or 8 or whatever and pick up whatever they want in their size and BAAM - it fits!! What I wouldn't give for that!! I would also like to be able to ride a roller coaster, fit in a  booth comfortably, not have back pain when walking or standing too long, not have my ankles swell up from lack of circulation....you name it I have it!!
I will be covered by United Health Care beginning in April and I am going to being the process of getting approved for bariatric surgery of some kind.  I'm not 100% sure what procedure I think would work best for me.  I have done some research and am leaning towards the lap band, however the port and fills kind of freak me out. One main reason I am leaning towards this surgery is because when I become pregnant they can lessen the amount of saline to allow me to eat more for the baby. I'm here to learn more about what others have done and their experiences. If you have any advice or words of wisdom, please feel free to pass those along - they would be greatly appreciated!!
