Well, I gained back the entire 162# plus another 25#. I am waiting to hear back from the office of Thomas Sonnanstine, MD, Medical Director, and Nirav Rana, MD at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio to set up a consult.

Hi Rachelle, I just wanted to congratulate you on the wonderful weight loss. I had surgery just shortly before you and have not done that well. I wish you much more continued success.

Hello! This is Rachelle! I got an appointment Friday, May 25th, to have my drain tube removed, so I'm glad about that!! I haven't taken a pain pill since 8:30pm last night (Monday) and I only have a slight discomfort where the drain tube comes out of the incision. I haven't dumped yet and that's because (I believe) I'm following my surgeon's diet instructions to a T. I also only woke up once or twice last night to use the bathroom. Speaking of that....I finally went you-know-what this afternoon for the first time since last Wednesday morning. Another surgeon suggested Milk of Magnesia, so I did it two days in a row and I went!! I also believe that trying to wean myself off the pain meds. is helping greatly. That's enough for now!! Good luck to everyone who's having the surgery tomorrow and my prayers are with everyone who's had the surgery recently. ~Rachelle

Hello!! This is Rachelle and I had my laproscopic Roux en Y done in 2 hours on Thursday May 16, 2002. The surgeon said my surgery went perfect and that there were no problems. I was in a room at the hospital by 11:30am or noon (surgery started around 7:45am). I was up and walking (with the catheter still in) around 3am Friday morning! I have pain from the gas they inflate your abdomen with, but other than that, I'm doing fine. I was released this afternoon (Saturday) and I feel really good. My roommated, Lara and some other friends told me that it was amazing that I looked SO good after surgery! The nurses and patient care associates (nurses' aides) were all kind, patient, and awesome all around!! My friend Carol drove 5 hours to bring me home from the hospital and she's staying with me until Sunday afternoon. I will post more soon, but need to try and get some sleep, because I couldn't sleep at the hospital and have been awake since 3:30am this morning!! Thanks for everyone who prayed for me and posted on my page! Love, Rachelle Szakacs
