Wishing you all the best on your weightloss journey!

CarolineAnnMartin 18 years ago

Just wanting to wish you the best as you begin your journey! I had my gastric byass 3 years ago and my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. I started out weighing 370 lbs with a BMI of 61.1 and given the tool of WLS, I am now 145 lbs with a BMI of 23. (Womens 6/7X to a Misses 2/4) What's more important than the numbers, I went from barely being able to walk to my mailbox to being a Certified Physical Trainer at the Bally's near where I live. Live still has its ups and downs. but I can live and feel good about myself now! Wishing you all the best as you go through your own journey and if ever I can be of support, please don't hesitate to email me. Hugs, Caroline Ann Martin -225 lbs @ goal, http://abutterflyemerges.com

Cyndi: Thank you for your comments on my upcoming surgery. You have a very interesting profile, I enjoyed reading about you. I will try to keep everyone who is interested updated after the surgery. I am very fortunate to live in Madison, Wisc. where UW-Hospital is located. We have several excellent surgeons here, and people come from all over to have them do the WLS! They have a ton of experience and excellent reputations. I have no fear at all of them doing my surgery. I think the hardest part will be the required 2-week liquid diet before surgery! But at this point, having waited so long, I will do what is neccessary to have the best outcome possible, even the liquid diet and everything that comes after. Thank you again for sharing. Ricki

I.G.: Thanks so much for your support. It is great to know that there are so many successful WLS folks out there, all across the U.S. You had a hard road, I can appreciate that. I hope I can get through as well as you as I encounter the bumps! Thanks again. Ricki
