Salt of the Earth

Feb 09, 2009

When Jesus says we are to be the salt of the earth, it means more than I realized.  He said to be salt that which refreshes, soothes, heals and causes others to thirst for living water.  I am involved in a youth prison ministry and I have struggled for a long time when we go into the prison because of my physical limitations.  I had to sit in a chair and watch the activities with the youth from the sidelines.  I couldn't go out and sprinkle my salt, I had to sit and be a "salt lick", waiting for them to come and take a lick.  But this weekend when we went into the prison, because of God's healing powers, I felt more equipped to take the salt into the world.  The rest of the team was amazed at the miracle in me because I was hardly ever sitting down.  I was in and among the team and the boys and was an active participant in God's work.  And, the best part is, it is just the beginning.  Thank you God!
