Rachael went in at around 7:30 (her scheduled time)... we had not heard from her family so we called the hospital around noon to find that they were just then taking her to the ICU. She had not been out of surgery/recovery for very long. You will have to remember that she had to have an OPEN procedure so it took alot longer than normal. Hospital staff said that she came through the procedure very well and that she was recovering nicely. She will be in ICU for at least tonight with the possibility of moving to a regular room tomorrow. Her mom called us this afternoon (late) to say that she is mostly sleeping but she is able to recognize family between snoozing and the medication. They are keeping her fairly well medicated so she will be free from pain. We are going to call up later tonight to check on her status and will post more then.
