Alcoholic
Nov 01, 2021
Hello all of you beautiful people,
hope everyone is doing well. I know they tell us not to drink alcohol after our bypass surgery because the chances are much higher to get addicted. I was fool enough not to follow their advice and hooked to drinking. I hate it. I've already tried detox and AA program and on the alcohol blocking med but nothing seems to work. What should I do. (Please be kind with your answers.)
thanks.
6 yrs after start to gain weight
Sep 04, 2017
hello everyone,
i made a decision in 2011 which changed my life for good. First time in life I was seen normal. I was able to maintain it up until last year then I got laid off from my work and was unemployed for over 7 months. The stress level was so high that I started to gain weight. I went from 157 lbs to 192. I hate what I see on the scale. Everyone who complimented me for my weight loss are now making fun of me and passing negative comments. I want to restart my diet again. Please help!
1 year surgiversary!
Aug 31, 2011
August 17, 2011 was the big day. My one year surgiversary! I had been looking forward to this day!! I am at 176 pounds and I still have about 19 lbs to loose. But, I'm SO happy with that even though I wanted to get to 155 pounds by Aug 17th but, I'm sure I'll get there some day and I know once I hit 155 I'd be asking to be 150 and so on. Reflecting on all that happened in the last year, I am truly overwhelmed at how far I've come. Not just physically, but emotionally as well. I don't feel like the same person. At all. It's very unfamiliar. I am confident in how I look, I am at peace with my appearance and I'm just loving the fact that I can buy clothes at regular stores and not in plus sized only shops or sections. I went down from size 24 to size 10-12. I'm even happy with how I feel at grocery stores and restaurants. I don't worry about what I am getting in fear of being judged. I love that I can fit in seats at doctor offices or movie theaters or wherever! I am just all around in general very happy with my life and where it's going. I'm enjoying every single moment of my new life. I love the attention and feel beautiful again. I feel incredible! Absolutely incredible!
A special thanks all of you who helped me get through this and for being very supportive.
2 weeks Post-op and back to work
Sep 01, 2010
Yesterday 08/31 was my officialy 2 week post-op. I lost 13 lbs and feel pretty normal. I'm back to work today and had a very normal day. It's about 4:00pm and I already had 45g of my protein. Still struggling with fluid intake as I never liked water. I am trying diff ways to get 64oz of fluid but no luck. The most I can get in is about 40 oz. Other then that I'm walking everyday for 30-45 mins. Feeling fine, no pain. Thanx to all of u who encourged me and for your support. This is a wonderful site and I love my OH family. Good luck All
