OMG, IT HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR.  TIME FLIES WHEN YOU'RE HAVING FUN.  IT IS SO FUN BEING THINNER.  MOSTLY BECAUSE OF THE EXTRA ENERGY.  I THINK THAT WHY I HAVEN'T BEEN BACK HERE.  I JUST GOT A NEW LAPTOP SO I'VE BEEN ABLE TO GET ON MY COMPUTER A LITTLE MORE EASILY AND OFTEN.  THE KIDS ARE GREAT, I FEEL WONDERFUL, I HAVE NO REGRETS.  HOPE EVERYONE ELSE IS WELL. LOTS OF LOVE, RENEE

Summer is keeping me busy.  I have so much more energy now.  I've lost 50 lbs.  I have been going to gym 2-3 times a week. We were on vacation last week so we went out on our boat for the day once, we went to the movies, we walked the channel, we went to the carnival, we went to fireworks on a beach, and bunches more.  Things have been so perfect it is hard to believe.  Marriage is great. Kids are great.  Life in general is great.  I feel so lucky.  Being thinner was one of my biggest dreams in life, now I'm going to have to think up something else.  I am so thankful.  I did have a little problem during week 5.  I couldn't keep my meds and liquids down.  But I'm told that is normal between weeks 4 and 6 because everything swells a little.   I still can't eat much of what my family is eating, but I am getting in the protein and I'm okay with what I can get in.  Its hard filling all the time I used to spend eating.  I'm looking for new hobbies.  Any suggestions ?  Only one I've come up with is looking for new recipes the entire family can eat.  Hungrygirl.com is wonderful.  They give you healthy recipes for really normal foods.  It's weird how postop a lot of people drop off of here.  It's nice to know you can always come back, though.

Well, I've been distracted lately.  I don't intend to have ignored anyone.  It has been a busy time in my life.  I don't spend the hours here like I did.  I am so thankful for this site getting me through the waiting. I feel so good.  I prefer being outside and going all the time.  I've moved on to some foods, but I have to remind myself all the time to slow down.  Me and Mr Toilet see each other too much if I don't.  I have lost 39 lbs.  OMG !! I went back to work today and everyone was amazed. I feel like I am on display.  It is a little uncomfortable.   I still don't see it.  I am trying to take pictures often.  I will get some loaded soon. Have a good weekend.

Everything is going good.  I'm really ready to move on to solid proteins on Wednesday.  Still a little afraid to eat.  I am getting in all my liquid protein.  My husband is acting a lot better.  He noticed my boobs and butt are smaller.  We had a great weekend.  I'm down 35 lbs. Yay me ! I have to wear my binder if I do something strenuous.  The muscle under one of my incisions is taking a long time to heal.  Other than that I am very pleased with this decision and the whole procedure.

So,  I feel pretty good.  Still kind of tired and sore on the left side.  I am morning food.  I've realized when I'm bored, I eat.  I've been bored a lot lately.  I'm a little sad.  I've been focusing on surgery for so long, I don't know what to think about now.  My family all seems so proud of me, but not my hubby.  He doesn't even act like anything special happened.  What a butthead. Oh well, I've got a whole new life ahead of me.  I just hope he's on board.

I'm home.  The last 3 days have been like a whirlwind.  I can't believe it is all done.  My roommate Jill was amazing.  I had a little trouble because my small intestine wasn't where it was supposed to be.  It was off the the right and twisted, so it took the Dr. a little longer in surgery.  I almost ended up with a sleeve instead of the rny.  My left side is really sore, like everyone says.  Luckily, they took my drain out at the hospital so I don't have to wait for that.  I did have to stay at the hospital for an extra 4-5 hours today because my potassium was low. So they had to run an extra iv thru me.   My mom took my kids overnight so I can get settled without too much commotion.  Well, I just walked and drank, now I'm gonna lay down.  I'll check in later.

Well, day 4 of the liquid fast and I feel much better today.  Still these last 10 days seem like they will last forever.  I have started to put things together to pack, so that makes me feel like it's getter closer.  I downloaded some music to my MP3 player and all my little bottles are filled with lotion and shampoo for my toiletry bag. I have a nightgown, robe, and slippers (non-skid), but I figure I will end up wearing what they give me.  Maybe I'll use the robe.  I heard it is a good idea to bring a pillow to brace my tummy on the way home, so I'm gonna do that. Also, I have three Chapsticks ready to go.  Everyone says that is the best thing they had.   I don't like that I can't wear my contacts and I probably won't have my glasses in recovery.  I really wanted to get a pedicure and have pretty toes, but that's not allowed either.  I think I'm still gonna get the pedi, though.  By the way,  if Subway doesn't stop showing their commercials for $5 footlongs, I'm going to lose my mind.  I don't need a footlong, just a taste.  Just any sandwich would be good right now.  It's just head hunger though,  I really don't feel hungry or have any more grumbling in my tummy.  I'll check in later.  Have a good day !

Well, I've completed my first full day of the liquid fast.  My head hurts, I feel like I'm going to puke, and my legs feel weak.  I just need to keep my goal in my head.  This is all very worth it.  Someone remind me tomorrow, okay. Night.

Well, my preop appointment was Thursday.  I was so nervous.  When I stepped on the scale, I had lost 17 lbs. YAY!!! Dr Gluck said that I was doing great and that he thougt I would do great.  He let me ask all of my questions one on one and I feel a ton better.  I told my friend Jill, it's kind of wierd, but I feel really calm.  I'm not even really stressed about starting the fast this wednesday.  I was happy to find out we can have cream soups during the fast because they are mixed with milk and that goes toward our protein total.  I think that will help me feel full and like I am eating something.  I did have a steak and huge baked potato tonight with "I can't believe it's not butter light" and light sour cream. That is the one meal I think I will miss the most.  So I'm having a couple days of Last Supper Syndrome, but wednesday no screwing around.  Dr. was clear if the liver it too big, they will pull out and send  us home.  It was fun meeting some of the people that are having surgery at the same time.  Jill especially was GREAT !  My hubby even said, " She seems like a lot of fun." We are hoping to be roomies.  So while I'm waiting I've been making a lot of jewelry and I'm cleaning out my kids rooms.  Our neighborhood has a huge block sale this coming weekend.  I figure if I tell the kids they can keep the $$$, they will part with more of their crap.  Man, are kids these days spoiled.  I hope the weather is nice for these next few weeks, too.  I would like to work outside a little while I still can and I've been walking a lot ,too. So good weather would be helpful. Mostly, I just want to have a safe and uneventful surgery.  So if it must rain and be cold, then okay. LOL.  Well, talk at ya more later.  Bye.
