April 30th is going to be my new Birthday, It will be here before I know it. Scared and excited at the same time.

Received my letter from Anthem BCBS approved for the surgery. I will be calling MD in the AM to see what happens next. Its going to happen.

Waiting, and waiting, to hear from the insurance for approval excited but also scared. 

 

I had a pretty busy day, mammogram,ultra sound and then met with the cardiac MD for clearance. Because of my weight and the fact that I am diabetic he wants to do a stress test so i will be getting that next week. While making the appointment she said that will be on the 22nd.  Wow my last hoop to jump through will be Feb 5th when i meet with the dietitian and have my upper GI test, and now its beginning to feel like it is around the corner. Can,t wait till it goes to insurance and when i get a date for surgery.

Followed up with primary MD I think she is more excited for me than I am. I had my labs done. I had my psychology visit and she saw no reason why I could not have the surgery. I have my cardiac clearance appointment next week so everything is moving along then I have one more test and a meeting with the nutritionist. So now things are moving right along. The closer I get the more excited and nervous I get. I get on this site and look at all the before and after pics and can't imagine not being obese. I have been this way for 30 years can't believe that I could have an after pic because the most I have ever lost at one time was thirty pounds and when you are my size 30 lbs is barely noticed in pics. I know it is going to come and I am ready for the change.

 

Well met with M.D he did not remember me from a few years back but did reviewed my history with me he wants me to have a test and if i do well i can have the sleeve but if not he said he would not do the sleeve but will do the bypass. I also found out that my insurance only requires md letter of need for surgery and 1 dietitian visit and i psyche visit cardiac clearance and labs. i am glad I don't have to many hoops to jump through, but time to start jumping.

 

Well I didn't get the band MD did not recommend it due to results of endoscopy recommended sleeve but insurance would not pay at the time. insurance will pay now so I am going for it and I am not looking back hopefully I will be approved by the insurance and have a date soon.

Well I had my endoscopy today.Found a hiatel hernia, some gastritis. they are sending off a biopsy, so I don't know how this is going to effect me gettting the lap band.

It's about time, Going to get my band. Scared but excited. waiting for my date for surgery. Insurance said Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was impressed by the doctor and the staff. It was informative and the Doctor took his time and listened to me and answered all my questions during the exam. Just waiting on insurance now. Got to go and have some labs done and a test to check the esophagus since I have GERD. Waiting again. Isn't there a sying that says," All things good come to those that wait."
