Hi, my name is Juli and I am a mom of 3 active boys.  I have recently come to the decision to have the realize band placed.  I had my surgery on September 16th-I am having a slower than expected recovery process-a few minor glitches in my surgery may have contributed or it could just be the way that my body has decided to respond.  I am having a lot of pain in my incision sites, I am assuming that the port site is the most uncomfortable, when I go to move it feels like someone is taking a pair of plyers and pinching the most sensitive part of sking and twisting it, I hope things are not moving from where they should be in there.  I had an "on q ball" placed in my incision area during surgery, however, after coming home realized that it has been clamped off the entire time so no numbing medicine was able to get to the appropriate areas.  When I unclamped it, the medicine just leaked externally so we just removed it.   I am using a pain medication nasal spray that really doesn't help only makes me feel dizzy and liquid ibuprofen.  I wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience.  Of course it is the weekend and I don't want to bother the dr after hours to check and see if these things are normal.  I  tried to tell them in the hospital that I was in a lot of pain but was told that was all that could be done.  On the light side, I am hoping to get my physical self in a good place soon so that I can get moving and get this plan going, I am exicted to begin my journey on this road and have been following the diet to a "t".  I am on a liquid only diet now-I did the liver shrinking diet starting on the 8th and my surgery was on the 16th of Sept.  I did a 2 day clear liquid bowel prep with mag citrate before surgery.  There are times I get so hungry I don't think I can stand it but then get a little something in my mouth even to drink and it passes.  It definitely isn't easy that is for sure.  I am happy to discuss anyone elses personal journeys as I am in definite need of support.  Just hoping there are no complications with this port or any part of the band and that I am just having a "normal" reaction to the placement of this band and the surgery.  He also performed a liver biopsy while he was in the area so I am sure it is a bit sore there too.  Hanging in there for now as long as there are no sudden moves.  Thanks for my dh for helping with the kids and my mom and grandma, I could have done any of this without them.
