Norbert Richardson

"My first impression of Dr. Richardson was that he was very knowledgeable and really enjoyed his work and his ability to help people. He was always willing to answer questions, even the difficult ones. He very clearly addressed all of the risks of surgery. Most of his office staff was very nice and competent but of course there are always a couple that aren't. One word about New Start is that you have to keep on them. Because they handle so many people it is easy to get lost in the shuffle. If you are expecting an answer from them and you don't get it in a reasonable amount of time, call them back. Most of the aftercare is from New Start staff. You only see the dr. for 1 wk., 1 month and 3 months. You also see the nutritionist at those visits plus again at 6 months. I would rate him very high as a surgeon and as a very compassionate man. He was very good not only with explaining things to me but also with my family. I would have to say that his beside manner and surgical competence are both very high. "

St. Alexius NewStart

"The hospital was fantastic and very respectful of me and treated me with respect and dignity. I had one problem with one nurse giving me pain meds in a timely manner. The only other problem I had was that initially I was told there would be no problem with my 8 yr old spending the night there with my mother. Then I was told the day of surgery it was against their policy. I understand that it is against policy but it would have been better to know that upfront and not have been told something different."
