Wow, I couldn't believe it. I received my approval. I didn't know what to do. I called my Husband, couldn't get in touch with him. Call my best girlfriends, couldn't get in touch with them. So, I decide to call my Mother, why? I don't know. I had to tell someone. Well, she wasn't the right someone. She started to cry and hung up on me. She said, I'm still her child! I think she thought I was killing myself on purpose or something. Yep, that took the joy right out of it.

PCC Chuck, told me that someone would be contacting me to set up presurgical testing and a surgery date.

They wanted to schedule the surgery with 2 weeks but I couldn't because I had to get my job, home and stuff together before I could. I ended up setting a date for 5/25/2005. My job wasn't to happy with it and wanted me to change the date to September because it was an elective surgery. Yes, it was elective but I felt like I was dying everyday that went by. Because of my approval, I had to do the surgery within a certain timeframe.

I went for my presurgical testing at 7:30 am @ Harper Hospital. It was really no big deal. I met with the anesthesiologist. I told him about my experience with my c-section and how that didn't go so well with spinal tap and how the first one didn't take and how I don't want this to be a problem again. He said it wouldn't be.

Surgery day! I had to be there @ 6:00 am. Needless to say, I didn't sleep much. Prayed a lot. I arrive at the hospital, striped down, prepped and the surgery began @ 8:00 am. I was done in less than an hour. HOWEVER, the nurse knock my epediral out my back. So, I was hooked up to the pump. Not so good. Felt a lot of pain. I was taken to my room. The guy who took me, said ok you have to get in the other bed. I was like I just had surgery but I did it anyway. Hurt like heck! The nurses were nice. Those boots were annoying. The drain wasn't so bad. I wanted a shower bad or need one bad. My husband ate Wendy's in the room twice. The nutrition came the same day of the surgery and try to talk to me but I could barely keep my eyes open. I thought I was being rude. The first popiscle was the bomb! I was there 3 days. I did a lot of walking but I notice the people with the epiderials were moving a lot faster than me
