Past ONE YEAR and doin' great!

Jan 14, 2008

I made it past my 'Birth Date' and am feeling better than I ever have.
I am happy to wave goodbye to 2007, however, and am looking forward to a great 2008. There were just too many things that really hurt last year so I'm ready to move on and see more smiles!

I've lost 71lbs so far with only a few more to go to reach my all time goal of 130lbs. Wooo! I cant even believe I'm this close. I know I could have reached it by now if I would have been more strict on the exercise part of it all. shhhhh... noone tell Dr Juarez. lol

I vow to do much better this year in that area.

Six Months and Smiling!

Jun 11, 2007

Well, I made it to seven months post op and am feeling great. I know I havent been on here lately but that's because I have been dealing with the loss of my brother and it's left me not wanting to do a lot of what I used to do. I'm getting by slowly and I'm sure I'll be back to normal (what ever that is, haha) soon.

Anyhow, with all thats been going on I still managed to lose 63 lbs so far. That's going pretty slow but at least it's going. I have 40lbs to go and I'll be as happy as a clam. Hmmm, clams... now I've gone and done it, I'm hungry. lol time for lunch I guess.  Dr. Juarez doesn't seem all that excited about my low weight loss but I guess he's used to people losing drastically right away or something. I know my body and this is the norm for me. I really have a tough time losing, even with surgery I guess so any loss is exciting for me.

Well, that's about it for now. I'm off to post some new pics so check them out. I'll try to get on here more often. Bless you all and take care.

YAY! Good News at 2 Month Visit

Jan 14, 2007

I went to my 2 month visit with Dr. Juarez and besides getting to meet a very nice woman whom I met on OH first (PWright), I got the good news that I'm officially down 31 lbs. YAY! Woohoo!! Talk about a good day. I'm still eating carefully because of the ulcer but it's not a bother at all. I'm feeling good and losing weight steadily and that's what matters. :)

I also saw Dr. Juarez on the Arizona Morning News Show the other day with 2 patients of his that have lost a lot of weight and are three years out. They look fantastic! It was neat seeing my surgeon sitting there, hehe. He sure is a man of few words but he's a good doc.

Holiday's Done...

Jan 02, 2007

Woohoo, made it through the holidays. YAY! Ready for 2007 and all it has to offer. I'm looking and feeling better and love watching that weight drop. I'm down under 200lbs now according to my home scale, I havent been below that mark in forever. YAY again.  What a great feeling!  My next doctors visit is Jan 8th so I'll post my exact weight loss then but for now....I'm going with my scale. lol

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a fun filled New Years eve.  I send you all Blessings and Happy and Healthy Vibes for the New Year.

On The Right Track

Dec 21, 2006

Things are looking up. I've been doing really well lately considering what I've been through. I'm back on track losing weight again, down 23lbs now. YAY! And I'm eating without getting sick, no other side effects to speak of either. I'm so happy I could just... well I'm happy about it anyhow.

My doctors have gotten my medication figured out so that it doesn't make me sick anymore so that's a good thing. Although taking them still is a chore since I have to chop them up to swallow some of them and that's gross tasting. But it's a small price to pay to stay healthy.

I'm starting to feel different in my clothes already which is really cool! Things fit differently and that gets me excited. haha. It's really amazing what a loose fitting shirt or baggy pants can do for your self image isnt it?!

And The Journey Continues...

Dec 11, 2006

Well it's been an interesting little while to say the least. I've been in the hospital with a GI Bleed. I got 2 transfusions, OH JOY, and was pretty much miserable the entire time. I'm home now but still not 100%. I'm on the right track to recovery though I think. Ended up getting a bleeding ulcer that was pretty bad and had to be cauterized (sp). They think it's from all of the meds I take for my heart etc. I guess they have been tearing up my intestines and stomach since I got the bypass. eeeek! What an experience that was I'll tell ya, I lost all color completely...I looked like a ghost. All gray, even my hands. scary!!! BUT I'm better now and praying that doesnt happen again. With all of the stuff they had me hooked up to and were pumping into me I havent lost any more weight but hopefully now it will start to go. :)

So I just wanted to write and tell you all I havent forgotten about you. Just forgot to take my computer to ER with me. HAHA
Hope all is well with you.

On The Down Side

Nov 22, 2006

I'm on the losing side for sure now... I just went for my 2 week follow up appointment and I've lost 12lbs. YAY ME! I'm really excited now. It actually feels like it's real now that I'm seeing the weight go down. Things are going great. No nausea, no constipation or otherwise, I haven't really found anything so far that I cant stand... except strawberry protein shakes. I did get a yuck feeling just after trying a sip of one. I'll go back and try it again another time, maybe it was just for the moment. haha.

Looking forward to some mashed potatoes and cranberry jello for Thanksgiving tomorrow. mmmmmm.

And The Journey Begins...

Nov 14, 2006

Well, here we go... I'm up and at em after surgery and doing good so far. It's been almost a week and things are looking up.

It's funny how you just eat without really thinking about it before your surgery but afterwards everything that goes into your mouth has you thinking. Every time I'm thirsty or hungry I am thinking about what it is I'm wanting, what's in it, how much I should have, etc. Talk about a whole new way of looking at nutrition. I love it! It's not mindless any longer, I really do have a say about what goes into my body. hehe. Before it was like the food controlled me...what looked good made me crave it and I ate it. Now, I can say 'NO' and mean it.

HA... I am now a winning loser!
