I'm 50 years old and have been fat since I was in 5th grade. The lowest I ever got is 120 in high school. but I've gone thru Weight Watchers three times( greastest loss 45 lbs) and Jenny Craig $2000.00 and 45 lbs. but It all came back.I started thinking about gastric bypass last Nov. 2006. Went to my doctor who gave me a referal. the referal came from Heathnet. I scheduled an appointment. The surgeons office called back the day before the appointment and said they didn't do Bariactric surgery. So I got on the web to check out the tricare surgeons in the area. I found one with a great reputation and call Commonwealth Surgeons.They set me up with a info session. I have to tell you at this point they are 50 miles away from my Home and 80 from my work. They gave me a sheet with all the requirements i needed to dofor Tricare Prime. the first was get an evaluation from the doctors office that happened Jan 22nd. I asked if I needed to make the other appointments. so They said go ahead. I was waiting till I got approval from tricare first. On Feb. 22 I got a letter that I needed the evaluations before they approved. why didnt they say that first. I'm not a stupid woman, if you just tell me what I'm suppose to do it it'll get done. I got very depressed.Never did that before. but the next day I got on the phone and made appoinments. 1 in March and 3 in April. Got a cancellation on one so now have Nutrition and Cardiac under the belt. Now need Pulmenary & Pysc evaluations. Very confusing Pulminary wants film, but cariac didnt do chest x rays because Echo cardio gram came back great . now do I go to pulminary with out or ask my primary physician to do them?
