Hi All 
My name is Elizabeth (Liz is fine). I am 39 yoa, a wife, mommy of three (one grown and the other two teenagers) and of course the "baby of the family" .. our mini daschund, Peanut. I am one of those "yankees in Florida" lol.
I have been overweight my entire life. At age three I weighed what a "normal" 6 yr old weighs. Up all thru school I did whatever I could to "skip gym", from faked letters from parents to "forgetting my uniform" etc. While I was always overweight - I was never this bad until the pregnancies started. Since then the weight just keeps coming on more n more each yr.
I have done just about every diet / exercise etc out there and spent a small fortune. I have a treadmill (great clothes rack) and a bike (nice extra seat for watching tv) as well as the Zumba system, 6 week body makeover, south beach diet - etc - the list goes on. I have been to the Drs for diet meds as well - as far back as "fen fen" and most recently phentermine. They all work great WHILE I am taking them - then I stop.. and within a short amt of time - here it all comes and with an attitude (lots more comes back).
I do have the "genetic" issue as well - Almost every woman on my paternal side is severly obese.
I have looked into these surgery options several times and always ran into a brick wall as everyone that I talked to told me what an unsafe (medically) idea it was etc etc etc. So I always backed off and tried something else. Each time I failed - I got depressed and ATE! Vicious circle. Finally I found out one of my cousins had done it and she was more then happy to allow me to pick her brain (Thanks again Amy!!) After going over my questions / concerns with her - I was alot less "nervous" about the prospect of having this done. Then I luckily found this site and the "fat lady sang" lol. Having so many people, profiles, pics etc at my fingertips to read and SEE results and info - was a God send! I am doing this.. now .. "which way do I go George!?"
