I finally  got my referral December 14th although my doctor was very hesitant saying I wasn't big enough. My BMI is 42 and I fit all the qualifications. I think waist size should also be listed since us apples have more risk than those pears! Now the waiting game begins .I'm going to try Weight Watchers again in the New Year!

 Hello my name is Ruthann and I live in Amhert NS. I'm 49 and have been fighting this battle for most of my life.Like everyone  with this problem I've tried all the diets ,have lost and regained more and more. My BMI is 42 and I have high Blood pressure,depression ,back pain and sleep apnea. I have a new doctor( for 2 years now) My former doctor of 20 years is now in administration and I miss her dearly. So my new doc. says I'm not heavy enough to have this surgery and wants me to try this and that . Well I've tried all the this and that for the last 30 years! Now I'm working on him for a referral!
PS My mother and father have both died of heart disease.

I'm very happy to have found this forum! I hope to someday get this surgery!
