Better Late ....

May 01, 2007

Welcome to my blog! Thanks for stopping by. I had surgery on 3/27/07 and so far things have been going pretty well. No complications to speak of. I am 32 pounds lighter which is amazing to me. I got into the very bad habit pre-op of wearing clothes with elastic waists so the truth is that I can't tell a difference in my size yet but know it's changed. Isn't the rule of thumb 15 pounds per dress size? Well, I'll be sure to buy some non-elastic waisted clothes soon. I'm having a bit of trouble with throwing up but feel it's part of the learning curve. Sometimes it's because the food is too fibrous, most likely, or possibly because i ate too much. I'm going to be sure to measure out 2 oz of protein from now on to be sure it's not too much and will be staying away from chicken and turkey for another week or two. Fish has been ok but I got a bit bored with that. I've read that some are still on all pureed food at this point. The doctor's opinions really vary on what you can eat when. Anyway, onward and downward we go! I'm so excited by this process and experience that a bit of cookie tossing (so to speak) is surely not going to dim my glee. Take care and thanks again for stopping by, Sadie
