I just had my surgery 9/29/08. I was doing great until that following Monday 10/6/08 I had a 103 fever. the surgeon insisted I go to the Hospital immediately.
I was admitted, and it turned out to be an infection. It was an infection in the blood. The Infectious disease MD said cutting into my gut transiented through my blood. It was very serious. I hope I am "out of the woods."
The problem is with the surgery, I needed to be on Augmentin and Flagyl. It gave me horrific diarrhea, so the Surgeon DC'd it. The problem is the infectious disease MD wanted me to stay on the antibiotics. GOOD NEWS....no more antibiotics, ID MD said i should be "OK." Pray infection does not come back! Feeling better today no diarrhea....think I'm Lactose Intolerant.
