Day 5 and 6

Jul 02, 2009

For those of you who have to do this diet...you need to know that YOU CAN DO IT!!! If I can, anyone can!!! The first 2 days were HELL!! If anyone asks me if I have any tips about the diet....my first response would be...SLEEP THE FIRST 2 DAYS!!!!!  Just sleep!!!  Im not saying these last few days havent been a challenge...because they have.  I am still craving all sorts of yummy goodies!! But...after losing 9 lbs the first 6 days...it feels pretty good and I am determined to do this!! Im not supposed to eat any food because they want to keep me under 800 calories with the 5 shakes a day.  I have chosen to eat a plain salad with JUST vinegar, sugar free jello and last night I made some scrambled egg whites with Pam.  I only drank 4 1/2 shakes yesterday to compensate for the egg whites.  I feel that i am ready to take on this journey full force.  I have become more aware of my food intake, even though i havent eaten much of anything...i have been exploring my pantry and seeing just how many calories are in what.  You would be amazed if you knew exactly how many calories we were intaking before this change.  I have also learned 3,500 calories = 1 lb.  So if your body burns 4,000 calories a day, and we intake 4,500 calories a day, we would gain 1 lb a week.  Life as I know it, has changed.  I welcome this change with open arms.  I am scared, I am happy, I am overwhelmed and I am anxious....but I am going at this full force and NEVER looking back!!!  I know that losing weight wont be about counting the calories for the first few months after the surgery.  We cant eat a lot, so the calorie intake is low anyway....but its after the 1st year that we need to fear.  Start your healthy eating habits early on, you won't ever think twice again....or you will and know what you should have done. We will all make mistakes, we will all fall off the bandwagon, but we need to just hop right back on!!! We can and we WILLdo this!!!!
