Good Evening All,
Today was a pretty good day... Spent all day with the munchkins (same as yesterday) and stayed cool. Movies all day to keep them occupied. After they went home I took my FIRST of DAILY trips to 24hr Fitness!

HAD AN AWESOME WORKOUT TONIGHT!
I did 1 mile on the treadmill then off to the bikes...
Did 5 miles on the bike then back to the treadmill to cool down...
Did 1/4 mile on the treadmill to cool down then down a freakin flight of stairs (all the cardio is upstairs) and hauled my ass home.

Gonna head to bed cause I'll be back up there by 5 am!
Taking my work clothes with me in the morning cause I plan on working HARD and I'm not coming home before work.

Already prepared for the week...
Vit's are bagged up...
Lunch is prepped and in containers.
Bottles of water in the freezer already ready to go!
SF puddings are bagged up and sittin by the door by the gym bag to go in my cabinet at my desk.

Grateful...

For the strength to get my a&$ outta bed at 415am.

For the drive that I have to work this TOOL we all have.

For the determination that keeps me going.

For my children and the "I love you mommy" "I miss you mommy" that I get daily from them.

For my friend E that can always put a smile on my face and encourages me.

For my friend David that REALLY opened my eyes last night.

For my OH family... I know I haven't really been there but I'm working on ME right now and I have to pay attention so that I don't fall off the wagon and stop working out.

For being SMOKE FREE 7 1/2 months!!!!!
For being ALCOHOL FREE for 13 weeks (I know it's not a long time but ya know... I could have used a drink the other night but that's O K LOL

Topic: RE: THURSDAY 8/14 - NIGHT WATCHMAN

TODAY...
Today was a good day!

I did my workout this morning (was in the gym at 445) and was working for an hour (1mi on the treadmill *20 minutes* 9.5 miles stationary bike *30 minutes*).  Went to work.. had a few conference calls.. got those out of the way.  Had my appointment with a personal trainer Chris... great personality (met him the other day before he made an appointment with me to come in so he didn't know who I was when he called me to set up a meeting) at the gym to do my evaluation and get my measurements in.  From his measurements I'm only 39% fat LMAO.  From his scale I've dropped 8 lbs since my last Dr appt. (now down to 274) so I'm gonna go with his scale cause my one at home is close to that as well.  After my meeting with Chris... I went back upstairs and got on the treadmill, 1 more mile tonight, and off to the sauna to stretch it out.

I have decided that I'm going to purchase some personal training to make sure that I get in gear the right way so that I can continue to follow through with this.
As you can see I am totally committed to this process of making my life BETTER!  (and working MY TOOL!)

I told Chris that I call it my tool... his comeback was well with your tool I'm going to give you some extra tools to make your tool work for you, then you will have plenty of tools.

Alrighty ya'll...
Saw Dr L today... he said I'm doing good... wants to see me again before I go back to work to give me the clearance and wants me to increase the activity (walking etc).  I'm sooooo glad he said I can walk more!!!

Look at these stats...
START = 345
Pre-Op = 331
Post-Op 1 week = 315
Post-Op Hospital stay (GAINED 30)
Post-Op 3 weeks = 304 (and lost above 30, 20 of it I brought home with me from the hospital LOL)

OK Sooooooooo the verdict is -41 !!!!!!!!!! (that doesn't include the above mentioned 30 that I should get credit for LOL)

oh yeah...

Jun 02, 2008

Forgot to put on there...

Between the time of having surgery and going back in the hospital I actually GAINED about 40 lbs of fluids (gag) which I have gotten off.  I will post tomorrow after my Dr appt when I get the "OFFICIAL" number.

So I'm finallllllly posting LOL

Jun 02, 2008

OK... I know I know... I said I'd post last week then I got lazy and didn't do it.  Then I said tomorrow and tomorrow came and went.  So I decided that I'd post today.  I'm gonna go all the way back to the 20th and start from there as that was my "2nd" day back to work.

*DISCLAIMER* THIS IS LONG and DETAILED!!!

5-20-08
1 week Post op appt.  Saw Dr L. and everything looks good, incisions healing nicely (took the staples out) bruises are fading.  Only one thing is I woke up this morning with a pain in my lower abdomen, we (doc and me) determined that it was muscle spasms so he gave me a script for valliums to take  when I went to bed.  I headed to the pharmacy and dropped it off and went to work.  I worked for 2 hours and decided that I was tired so I sent my supv an email and let her know what hours I worked and that I was going home tired. (my boss is very supportive of what I've done and is allowing me to take it at my pace)  I went and picked up the script and came home.  Drank some water took HALF of a vallium (5mg) and went to sleep.  I woke up a couple hours later cause I had to go to the bathroom.
I woke up TOTALLY delerious and had no clue where I was.  I sat on the couch for a few minutes trying to figure it out.  When I finally figured it out I figured I could make it to the chair since I wasn't that steady on my feet. YAY I made it to the chair.  The wall is now 5 feet away I think I can I think I can I kept saying, well ONE step later I went from standing up to flat on my face!  I passed out cold.  My cat woke me up licking my face however I couldn't get up, I couldn't sit, all I could do was roll around and it was freakin PAINFUL!!!  I was blocked from getting to my phones!  The chair was in the way and I wasn't able to get passed it.  I hear my phone ringing (my kids ringer, my exhusbands ringer, my friends ringer) then my second phone rings and rings and again.  I can hear the news, I can hear my cat crying.  I HEAR EVERYTHING but I can't do anything about it cause it's all too far away.  (I say too far away it's literally 5 or 6 feet away)  After about 1 1/2 hrs of struggling I get to my phones and call 911.  I lay on the floor totally out of breath, in severe pain, and exhausted talking to the 911 operator (1 breath to 1 # for my address, etc.)  I'm able to tell them everything (I had surg, what meds I took, the code to the apt gate... I mean everything!)

My neighbor was on his way home and pulled over cause the amb and FT were coming and then even passed our gate that I gave the code to LOL.  He went in and walked the dog like normal and then he was headed over to check on me like normal, however by the time he brought the dog in the medics were walking in my door and wouldn't tell him anything.  All the medics hear as they come in is "DONT LET MY CAT OUT! DONT LET MY CAT OUT!"  So they come in and they are talking to me I can answer but I don't have a clue today what they were asking me (Hell I could have told them some serious secrets and I don't have a clue).

They make me phiscally get up on the stretcher myself just so they could see how awake I was.  They ask for my house keys and my ID and I tell them where it is... they couldn't get the hint of where it is.  The door is open and my neighbor can hear me telling them what they want and he explains to them what I'm saying and BAM they found it (hello morons open your ears and listen LOL).  He trys to lock up for me and they don't allow him to do so, he wants to know if I'm ok they tell him nothing (however he does overhear them say my blood pressure is 40/20 and blood sugar is well over 400 so he KNOWS it's not good)

We are in the ambulance and they ask where I had surgery at and where I needed to go.  I clearly tell them Arlington Memorial and the driver says "SHE WON'T LIVE THAT LONG, N. Hills it is!" and off we go.  I'm in the ER with BP 60/40 & BS 477... and they cut my tank top off but take my bra off... dammit I loved that tank top!!! BASTAGES! lol
I don't remember much there other than I was in freakin pain and I couldn't breath cause they had me laying flat on my back (I always have a problem with that but they don't care)  I don't know how they did it but they called Nancy and she was up at the hosp in the ER with me a couple hours after I got there.  I remember them putting in a PIC line and it hurt like hell.  They found out that I was bleeding internally and I needed a blood transfussion.  I know they gave me blood (3 units)  I don't know much else about that evening.
1:30am they put me in ICU and I'm totally knowing what's going on.

The nurse that I had the next day in ICU (John) was the same one that admitted me into the ER so he already knew kinda what happened and was glad to see I made it through it.  He pushed like I wanted to get over to AMH so he kept calling for me.

I'm transferred over to AMH Wed afternoon from ICU to ICU and I'm in ICU till Friday night.  When I'm in ICU in AMH I just wanted in a regular room, I didn't like ICU they wouldn't allow me to use my cell phones (like I care or listen LOL) so they finally get me a phone for local calls (I ran down the battery on my main phone Tuesday night (or someone did with calling everyone and their brother about me).

They couldn't find the bleeding with the CT scans cause they needed to use the IV contrast and I'm allergic to it.  They did XRAY after XRAY and couldn't find the hole.  They give me more blood cause my counts are still going down not UP like they should.  They tell me to find the reason I'm bleeding they have to use the IV dye and they will give me benedryl to counter act it and I agree but warn them its not going to work and the minute I touch my head after they give it I will have a panic attack and start flippin out.
OK so they give me the benedryl and then take me to the CT room get me on the table and insert the dye at the last second that they can to make the process quick... well they aren't quick enough cause not 30 seconds after they inject the dye I touch my head!!! It's all over after that!  I FLIP OUT!!!!  My BP races as high as can be my pulse skyrockets and I almost go cause of that.  They do something to bring me down (I don't know what but they did)  I'm beat... I'm pouring sweat, I'm as red as a fire truck, and I'm freezing!  They get me to lay on my right side so that I'm concentrating on breathing and bring a fan in my room and point it right on me.  (I'm laying there with nothing covered up in the back with a fan blowing on me till I pass out then they cover me up)  I wake up later and they tell me what happened and all I could think was "I TOLD YOU SO!" but of course I didn't say the smartass remark lol

Finally they allowed me out of ICU and to go to a regular room!!!  Once I was there I knew it wasn't long then I got to go home.  OMG that was the longest weekend ever!!!  I got in 5036 about 9pm and that was Friday.  Had visitors (both in ICU & room) I'd list everyone but I only remember a few.  (I know Jeff *very close friend*, Brandi, Chris, Jenn, Kathy, George, Mary, Marcia *former supv*, Sherry *current supv*, kids (and the ex), ReeRee & Jerry, Gertie *friend's mom*, and anyone else I'm sorry if I don't remember if anyone else came up there cause as you remember I was OUT OF IT lol.

I'm doing better day by day and my blood levels are going up and getting better... looks like the bleeding has slowed down or stopped.  I see Doc on Sunday and we talk about scoping on Monday to see what or where the problem is IF my blood count isn't really good on Sun night.  YAY BC is getting better no scope needed.  I'm miserable in the hospital... I'm totally tired (yet all I do is sleep) and I don't want to walk cause I'm too tired etc.  waaa waaa waaa lol  Yes they make me get up and walk lol

I'm told I get to go home Tuesday and all I can think is FINALLY!!!!

I'm SURE I missed alot up there but you get the gist of what happened etc.

Ok just telling all that made me tired... I'm gonna go take a nap!

BTW... it's dropping!! YAYYYYYY

1st day back to work!

May 18, 2008

OK here we go!!!

I'm going back to work today, have been off for a week on "vacation" not medical leave.  (I go see Doc tomorrow morning before work)  I'm excited to go back (I know I'm crazy) but I know that I have support there as well.  I will have all my Dr info posted on my desk for ICE.  Everything will be fine.  I'll get in and have 50,000 emails (really I don't have any, I've been cleaning out my email while at home LOL) to do and catch up will be somewhat easy since my team assisted my customers while I was gone.  You're probably wondering what kind of customers... well I manage cell phone accounts for corporate accounts.  I am their "GO TO" person for the company.  I actually miss my customers and my team.
