4 months

Feb 05, 2010

Today has been 4 months since my surgery. I am 66 lbs and 33 1/4 inches (I measure 6 different places) smaller than I was on Octber 5th 2009. I can look back and think of times I didn't think I was losing enough or fast enough. This brings so much into light for me because although it may have seemed to be longer ago that I had my surgery than it has been, 4 months is really a short span of time. I can honestly say I am happy that I had the surgery and happy with the results thus far. I have 52 more pounds that I would like to lose and I think I will make it my goal to lose the rest in the next 4 months. I know that the loss slows down but that is a 14 lb difference in each 4 months so I believe it should be obtainable. Thanks to everybody that is helpful on this site and keep on keepin on!

My beginning

Aug 25, 2009

Weight Loss Surgery is something I have been thinking about for years and always felt as though it was not a possibility. About the past 6 months I decided I was going to do it and would just figure out a way. Well, after saving and qualifying for a portion through Care Credit, I was still a couple of thousand away and felt just as far away as if it was all of it. I made the decision to sell my 66 Mustang that I had restored and now I have enough without using credit (as long as the sale finalizes). I had already printed off the new patient forms and filled them out. I had already called my physicians office and got my history for the last 5 years. Now I have made an initial appt. for Sept. 2nd. Now I am afraid to get too excited for fear that the doctor will find some reason to say no. I hope that it all goes well and he places me immediately on the 2 week optifast diet and set surgery. I guess we will see.

I had the initial appointment (09/02/2009). It went very smoothly and well. I liked how comfortable everyone I encountered in the office made me feel. I will go for my pre-op visit and my Bariatric University on 09/21/2009. My daughter is going with me as I would like another person in the house to know what to expect. On this day, I will start my 2 week liquid diet and will have my surgery two weeks later on 10/05/2009. I am excited. I am not nervous yet but I know it will come, probably the night before. I know this is what I want so I won't back out even if I do get nervous.
