6 Month Consult
Feb 10, 2009
This afternoon I had my phone consult with Dr. Husted. He said overall I'm doing well. This morning I weighed 214!! I hope that means my fuckin' stall is broken! He thinks the stall is because my muscles are growing & fat is just going away at a slower rate. He said to back away from the scale & just measure & compare how loosely my clothing is fitting. But he said the measurments of inches I've lost are awesome. This morning my co-workers told me I am no longer allowed to wear the pants I'm wearing because they are ridiculously too big.....funny that I noticed they are loose, but not so much that I look foolish. (Oh, body image issues)
He is concerned about the inflamation in my stomach & colon. He said it hasn't been long enough that I've been off the ibuprofen for my back for the inflamation to calm down. He said that if my barfing & the uncomfortable sensation I've been getting when I eat doesn't stop within 2 weeks, he'll call in a rx for some med that coats the stomach & allows it to heal. I'm not sure why I have to wait, but I will. He also said to pay more attention to what I eat vs. what my bowels are doing. That because of the inflamation in my colon I'm not absorbing everything correctly (even more so with the DS) & it could be contributing to the mud butt.
I have to get an ultrasound on my gall bladder to make sure that pain I've been having isn't a gall stone. AHH! I hope not! I can't handle another surgery - financially or physically or emotionally. I have to think postively & that we're just doing it as a precaution.
My labs were awesome. I just have to take a little more Vitamin D - especially since there is NO sun...He said I could take 2 in winter & 1 in summer.
Other than that, my weightloss is a little slow, but he thinks its the combo of the inflamation & drugs. Also he thinks my body type is to be muscular - not slender so he somewhat expects my loss to be a little slower at this point. Not that encouraging for me - I never thought I'd be a size 2, but I want to be "normal" & healthy.
He asked me if I want to go to Kentucky in July or August for my 1 year follow-up. He said it would be cool to see my muscular-beach body after 1 year post op. (Like that's gonna be the result - more like saggy-baggy elephant!) Might be an interesting vacation.......
