PS plans CHANGED
Jan 11, 2010
So, I got my insurance approval for the panniculectomy part of my anchor cut tummy tuck & medial thigh lift, which was scheduled for 12-28-09. The surgeon wanted $18,435 to finish what the insurance didn't cover. I found this to be a appalling and ridiculous amount of money, especially since I still want arms & breasts done....which just the surgeon's fee would be an additional $17,000! I started doing research on alternative plans. I've decided to go with Dr. Sauceda in Mexico. He will do the 4 areas I want done for less than what the Dr. here wanted for 1/2 my body, with insurance approval. I am tentatively scheduled for February 15, 2010! I'm excited & only nervous to see how my body will be. I am anxious to have this part (the re-building) of my life over and get on with the fun stuff! I'm old enough to start enjoying life.I am glad I canceled for more than just financial reasons, as I had Carpal Tunnel Release 12-16-09 on my left hand. Of course, I would have the weirdest thing happen. My hand specialist has been such for 16 years & has never actually seen what was in my wrist. Apparently 30% of people have an extra tendon in the wrist - I (of course) am in that percentile. The weird part is, my extra tendon was running through my Carpal Tunnel - the surgeon had only seen it in books, never on an actual human! (Perhaps I'm not an actual human?) I can't imagine what it would have been like to try & get up after TT with my hand/wrist all bandaged & sore & unable to sustain any weight. Anyway, I have to have extra time off to heal & am banned from the computer! Don't tell I'm sneaking in some time & typing strictly with my right hand (had that one fixed 2005 - a whole other story - let's just say it's still messed up.) Anyway, once you know how to type, pecking around with one had sucks!
