Life Goes On...Update 4-27-11

Apr 27, 2011

I really hate talking about myself. I’m still the same person I always was. I just wanted to give some encouragement to anyone thinking about DS or PS. I am so happy with both decisions I made.  Now WLS is part of my life, not my whole life, and it’s so nice that way.

I will admit I had a rough recovery from PS. Not because of the PS, but because of a car accident (which really messed with me), DS, Carpal Tunnel Surgery, PS and a hideous rash all in a 3 year time span. My body was just tired and was having a hard time healing.    I found this amazing pain specialist, who basically saved my life. Not only is my pain at a manageable level, my headaches are almost nonexistent, my energy level is greater than it’s ever been and I feel like a real human should (or how I imaging a real human should feel)! I pay too much money, as my insurance considers it alternative medicine, but it’s worth it to feel better.

I want to encourage anyone who’s thinking of WLS to research, research, research and then talk to the amazing people on OH. I think you’ll never be ready until you feel completely comfortable with everything and once you are educated, you won’t be nervous when your magical day arrives.

As for me, I’m living my boring little life. I go to work, paint, take pictures, go to the beach, eat, exercise, spend time with my loved ones, go to baseball games, go shopping, pay my bills and oh yeah, I’ve had WLS……..
