I have been doing MAF training for the last 2 months where you try to maintain a low heart rate during your run/walk.  The target heart rate is 180 - your age so for me, 128.  You do the math.

We finally have some coolness in the morning here in South Texas.  I know the 60 degree weather helped me on my 5K yesterday.  This morning, my MAF numbers were 30 - 45 seconds faster per mile than Friday.  Friday was not real warm but it was in the mi

Bike - 120 miles

Run - 130 miles - get average mile pace below 12 minutes for long runs.

New long for me plus 1/2 mile before and after.  I averaged pretty close to 12 minutes per mile. 

 

I may sign up for a 1/2 marathon.  I would like to get my time closer to 11:30 per mile.

I was reading a blog by Jeff Galloway and he has an article about burning fat through running.  In the article he mentioned that runners often don't lose weight because to support running, the body stores extra glycogen, fluids and increased blood volu
