Neuropathy

I have been suffering from neuropathy pain and muscle weakness now for awhile. I have b-1 deficency diagnosed, have been treated but am no better as of yet. The pain and pins and needle sensations are absolutely horrible. Cold makes me hurt even more.
I had an emg and nerve conduction test last week, which were pretty aweful, I was told I have nerve inflammation and neuropathy. I am now on neurotin twice a day for nerve pain.

Rough week

Just heading out of week 6. It has been a rough week. I have been unable to keep anything down. I went in for a endoscopy and they used the balloon to stretch the opening which was growing shut. I thought things would be better by now. I really havent been able to eat even after this. I dont know whats going on. I am absolutely worn out and just want to sleep, but with my life that is a luxury not a given! I am hoping I feel better soon and food stays down soon!
A week out

It has been a week and one day since surgery. I gotta admit the first few days I was asking what did I do? The pain from the surgery wasnt nearly as bad as the gas pain that followed. I found myself pacing the floor throughout the night . Now most of that has subsided and I actually feel pretty. A good thing since I return to work friday.
I am 23 lbs down from presurgery. That feels pretty good! I am getting excited now rather than wondering if I was insane for having this surgery. Most drinking and food issues have passed, although I cannot tolerate cold drinks. I drink my water room temp, if not it sends my insides into knots. I cant wait til tomorrow, get the soft foods diet instead of pureed!!

A long wait and journey for approval

I am so excited to say that after a two year battle with insurance , I have finally been approved for surgery!! All I have to say is make sure you document, document, document!!!! I have BCBS of Mi. they require a 12 month dr supervised diet, excerise and behavioral program. Make sure to stick to this even if someone tells you differently, even from the insurance company. This happened to me and I have to do another 12 months!!!
Well surgery is July 24, 2007.I am not looking forward to the next few weeks of liquid diet they require to shrink your liver, but really the samples I tried werent that bad, they are the optifast program. Bad thing insurance doesnt pay for those, all out of pocket. I figure it is just the first step to many changes that are lifelong.
Well wish me luck on this "losing" battle!
