BMI 53.3 Morbid Obesity class 3 Pre Surgery/ Post surgery 34.2 Obese Class 1!!

So I will hit my 10 month date on the 31st of October! I am down to 212lbs from 330lbs. total of 118lbs since the DS. I was at 390 before surgery and lost 50lbs on my own. So total lost 168lbs that's a whole freaking person!! Things have been good vitamin levels where a bit low but have gotten better as long as I do what I need to do. Food wise I am good with high protein bad crabs kill my stomach smelly gas and bm happen to me when I eat bad carbs. Surgery went well and so did recovery. Hair got a little thin but nothing I coulnd not handle. Size wise I am down from a 26/28 to a size 14/16 depending on the cut. Shirt down from a 4xl to a XL. No more diabetes type 2 or high blood pressure or sleep apnea!! Over all doing well and pray to continue that way!!

I finally did it after some minor set backs with my health that caused my surgery date to change a few times I finally got her done! I was in at 6am at the hospital to check in and the hardest part of the pre op was getting the iv and blood I am a hard stick! I was very nervous but I prayed and left my life in a higher power. I was given a "don't care shot" a little before I was taken back to the OR to relax me and if felt great I didn't knock out but I was way relaxed! I said my see you laters and I love yous to my family before they rolled me back and the last thing I remember is hearing my heart beat on the monitor they wasted no time in knocking me out. I woke up in terrible pain I am not going to lie I was hurting bad. I never had major surgery done to my stomach so I was in for a big surprise! Recover room was a blur I drifted in and out till I got to my own room. I was so thirsty but could only take a few sips of water. My lovely broth and jello dinner arrived shortly and I kept thinking how am I going to sit up to eat this! Well the bed was like a transformer! The nurse came in pulled the foot rail and hit some switches and it turned into a recliner that was the coolest bed! I didn't have to strain to get out of bed and got to rest my stomach wall. I walked that evening up and down the hall way twice and then the next morning had my dye test done where they make you drink some nasty yellow drink and then you get to see it travel thru you stomach I was shocked to see my stomach it was the size of an egg!  Dr Syn came in the next day a little after 6pm and told me I did very well during surgery and the dye test came back with no leaks showing and I got to go home that same day! Once at home I was only comfortable in my recliner and it was kind of painful getting up from the recliner and potty! I had a lot of help from my hubby he would give me that extra pull to be able to get up. And yes I did do the whole what did I do to myself thing because lets face it who the heck likes to be in pain but it did get better not right away but slowly day by day it did get better! no big issues during recovery just a minor one with aunt flo! The trauma from surgery started my cycles up and it was like a flood gate! I am now 8 weeks out and the pain is gone and eating like I should. Would I do this again? As of now yeah I would!

so I haven't been feeling so great tired and lots of diarrhea (yuck)! I went to the doctor and had to give a stool sample ( double yuck)

test came back positive for  C. difficile and H. pylori and i may have to  reschedule my surgery date!! if it's not one thing it is another!! well all i can do is take my meds and hopefully get it under control and just keep on moving on!!

Ok just got the call from the Dr office and my surgery is set for DECEMBER 9th 2013!! Pre op set for the 3rd! Any advice on what I need to get ready or have done before the surgery is greatly appreciated!!

So I received my approval letter from the insurance company today! Excited? yes, nervous? double yes and scared out of my mind!!

I got my letter in the mail Saturday and last night i was in bed letting my mind take over and getting the best of me. I was laying there wondering if I should go through with the surgery or not. What if something goes wrong and my kids are left without a mother. How can I be so selfish to do this to them? I haven't even be set for a surgery date yet and here I am wondering if i am doing the right thing.

everything went well on with the EGD. Dr Syn said everything looked good and has submitted the auth to the insurance company so now we wait!

set to have my EGD tommrow! nervous is the best word to use! after this i will have a dr apt same day and hopefully get a surgery date! i hope I don't chicken out!!

i am planning on having the ds. i have had my consult and this is the surgery the Dr felt is best for me. I have had my physic evaluation and have been cleared. i will have a EGD on oct 8th and then we will go from there. i wonder sometimes am i doing the right thing here? My biggest fear is not making it thru the surgery and the complications afterwards. i have read so many horror stories about things going wrong! I know my weight puts me at a greater risk. i am 328lbs 5 feet 6 inches. i just hope that i am making the right choice!
